JethroTundra Posted December 29, 2021 Posted December 29, 2021 Finished mission 1 today. First time I'd done any DCS mission as a wing to an AI lead, and I'm unclear how landing is supposed to work. I called inbound to mother when Saint told me to, then I followed him to the vicinity of the ship, assuming he would land first, and then Saint seemed to just fly around at 1500 feet or so without entering a landing pattern. I was at a lower fuel state which started to become urgent so eventually I just landed. The mission was complete but I wasn't sure if I was supposed to do something different or if there's a radio command to get permission to actually land.

For most of the missions (unless specifically stated otherwise in the briefing) you will be required to use standard supercarrier DCS comms. Even if not 100% realistic, it would be super difficult to go around it. In M1 you should land behind your flight lead, but normally you will be required to land first. Hope this helps!
