tiizy Posted January 5, 2022 Posted January 5, 2022 Sometimes it takes a little time to reproduce, but DCS regurarly crashes when I fly the Viggen with the radar on. Sometimes it happens right after take-off, sometimes after 20-30 minutes using the radar. Log attached, it indicates the problem starting from line 8205: Quote 2022-01-05 21:01:17.426 INFO EDCORE: 0x000000000010F0B3 (AJS37-Avionics): cockpit::AJS37::RadarDevice::initialize + 0x9B3 2022-01-05 21:01:17.426 INFO EDCORE: 0x0000000000111683 (AJS37-Avionics): cockpit::AJS37::RadarDevice::initialize + 0x2F83 2022-01-05 21:01:17.427 INFO EDCORE: 0x00000000000B78EE (AJS37-Avionics): cockpit::AJS37::FlightDataUnitPanel::initialize + 0x4CFE dcs.log
TOViper Posted January 7, 2022 Posted January 7, 2022 (edited) Hello tiizy, have you already tried a repair (dcs_updater.exe repair)? I am asking because I had similar problems in the past one time with the F-14 module, where I noticed that during a normal update process the F-14 module was not updated completely. After applying a repair, a few files of the F-14 module (and by the way a few files of BAZAR) had been replaced, and then everything was OK. tiizy Posted January 11, 2022 Author Posted January 11, 2022 Thank you for a reply, TOViper! Could you hint how one may see what has been changed during the update process? I now have done both the fast and the slow version of repairs, but I got no clue, about possibly downloaded files.
IronMike Posted January 11, 2022 Posted January 11, 2022 Thank you for the report Tiizy, please let us know if the crash still occurs after the repair. Thank you! Hey tiizy! I am not 100% sure, but I think there is a file somewhere named "autoupdater.log" (or something very similar, its in the DCS root folder I think). TBH, I can't really remember where I read about my missing files back then). Maybe @IronMike is better in knowing this, because unfortunately I currently have no access to my DCS machine Edit: on the other hand, I you applied the repair, and then fly, you - hopefully - see a difference... Not sure if that kind of information is really visible. I may be wrong, but I also never looked for it. If you have modded/altered files, the updater lists them, befor you can delete them. I have never seen it provide a list of files that were missing though. In the DCS installation folder the file which shows all changes is autoupdate_log.txt 1 Visit https://www.viggen.training ...Viggen... what more can you ask for? my computer: AMD Ryzen 5600G 4.4 GHz | NVIDIA RTX 3080 10GB | 32 GB 3.2 GHz DDR4 DUAL | SSD 980 256 GB SYS + SSD 2TB DCS | TM Warthog Stick + Throttle + TRP | Rift CV1
tiizy Posted January 31, 2022 Author Posted January 31, 2022 Thank you, @TOViper! I had a long flight yesterday > 1.5h and it didn't crash. Therefore, I would assume the problem is solved.
