Caldera Posted January 16, 2022 Posted January 16, 2022 Hey All, I am not sure what is going on with my Mustang. If I am in the Take-Off Training or a custom mission I get the same result. That result is that after I pull the gear up, I fly for 15-30 seconds and then the engine coffs a couple of times and then shuts itself off. Is this suppose to be part of the Take-Off training mission? <press the space bar to continue> I have attached a track. Thanks in advance, Caldera P-51D ENGINE 01.trk
razo+r Posted January 16, 2022 Posted January 16, 2022 (edited) Very simple answer: You are switching to the fuselage fuel tank which you did not fill up. Even shorter: You switch to an empty fuel tank. Long answer: The fuselage tank is not filled up when your total fuel is below 68%. Because it has a bad effect on the CG, which again has undesired effects on the flight behaviour, the fuselage tank is only being fueled up, when both wing tanks are full. So to solve your issue, either take more than 68% fuel (which in DCS is very, very rarely needed) or simply don't switch to the fuselage tank when flying. Edited January 16, 2022 by razo+r
Caldera Posted January 16, 2022 Author Posted January 16, 2022 Razor, Thanks! I feel humbled... DCS had whacked my keybinding file for some reason since my last excursion in the P-51D. Prior to that, I had T mapped as trimmers reset and used the mouse to switch tanks. I often reset trim just after take off. Guess what T was really mapped to? Caldera
