Radio Tune Not working anymore

Recommended Posts

Posted (edited)

SInce the last update I have not flown the F14 much until today. I noticed Radio Tune and Link Tune says "Unrecognized" all the time. I see the Radio Tune shows in the profile window along with Tacan Tune, Link Tune etc. There is no keyword for Radio Tune or Link Tune but there is one for Tacan Tune. I did put Radio Tune in the main keywords database. It will Recognize "Radio Tune" that way but still nothing happens. So Link Tune and Radio Tune do not work at all anymore. They worked fine before the update.

Things I already tried:

1. Resetting Lua, Keywords, Profile etc

2. Replaced AIRIO.dll in subfolder with new downloaded one

3. Ran the test in game multiple times to look for missing aliases.

4. Verified Voiceattack options are the same per VAICOM manual

5. Imported a new VAICOM PRO for DCS World.vap and reloaded all keywords agian.

6. Added Radio Tune as a Keyword in the profile

7. All 9 AIRIO extension pack commands are present in the profile as usual

Did you do the specific AIRIO update steps? Take a screenshot of the profile in VA, and post here if your unsure.

It's in the manual, first five pages or so. Basically you open the newest AIRIO profile and copy over the new commands to the main profile.

Cheers!

Did all that yes. Nothing fixes the Radio Tune, Link Tune, or  Scan Sector commands.

Right, was just asking because "unrecognised" usually means the command is not in the keywords/commands in the profile.

No it wasn't in the keywords. I added them after I tried many times to run the Test function to find missing aliases and also tried resetting Keywords, lua and profile to see if that would fix anything. If I put the Keyword in the list with the rest of the keywords it will recognize Radio Tune but no actions are carried out.

How did you add them?

I added Radio Tune to the Keywords Collections group. Tacan Tune is already in the Keywords Collections group with all the rest of the keywords and it is in the Command Phrase drop down list in the Editor tab. Radio Tune, Link Tune and Sector Scan are not though. The pic attached shows that all the extension packs are there

Yup, that's what I thought, hence the question. Don't add keywords directly in the profile. Doesn't work that way. If you need to change a command/phrase alias, do it in the Keywords editor, and do the "Finish" step.

Not sure why TACAN tune is there. Might be incorrect. As for the other commands, they aren't there because the already are in the profile, using the AIRIO dll, and not the VAICOM dll. You're literally looking at them in your screenshot. 😉 Open the commands and you'll see. You get them recognised now, but they don't do anything, because they're probably passed to the wrong plugin.

So, to make things correct, do the "Finish" step to get rid of the conflicts you now have.

Cannot answer for why it doesn't get recognised though. Are you sure you say the command correctly?

Post a screen after you've said the commands.

Ya I know the commands and where all the keywords are and the pic is just show I have the AIRIO extension packs installed and they are there but only certain ones work no clear reason. This stuff happens after every time I have updated in the past and that I why I normally put it off as long as possible. Usually a reset of the lua, keywords, settings and profile corrects issues like this but not this time.

So after rolling Vaicom back to .24 version and AIRIO back to .10 version I can get all but the "Radio Tune" extension commands to work. Anyone have this issue and had it fixed by rolling back to previous version of AIRO and VA?

If "Radio Tune" were part of the latest VAICOM Jester update, then unfortunately it will not work in 2.5.24 for obvious reasons.

So was it?

It was working before I updated to .26 and the latest .11 AIRO but I think I was on .23 and AIRIO .09 when it was working now that I think of it. Everything was working 100% for me until I went to .26 and AIRIO .11. The Link Tune and Scan Sector was also not working for me in .26  and AIRIO .11 but it is now working in .24  and AIRIO .10 again. Just the Radio Tune isnt working. So maybe I have to go back .23 and AIRO .09? I think that is the versions I had before I let it update to .26 and AIRO .11 when those commands broke.

No, no! No need to to revert back further. You could probably try latest version of AIRIO anyway. Not using to Cat so often, I keep forgetting that it's another DLL, and can't keep track of the versioning for sure.

Well, we can cross our fingers, and hope for a Phantom Jester addon now, I guess. @Hollywood_315

Dang so you got it to recognize Radio Tune with latest AIRIO ok. I will try that here in a bit then. My feeling is thought that for some reason my keywords are not fully updating even after this reinstall.

So still no joy after updating to AIRO .11 the latest release with VIACOM 2.5.24.0. All other commands seem to work beside "Radio Tune". Screen shot shows it is still unrecognized.VAICOM CAPTURE.JPG

Aahhhhh! Quite honestly. If I only say "Radio Tune", it's unrecognised for me as well. I need to say the frequency too. emoji2373.png

Ya it doesnt work even saying the full command with the frequency. Still unrecognized.

Well, if the command is in the profile and you're saying the command correctly. VAICOM doesn't do the recognition, neither do VoiceAttack, so you might want to practice some more or add the phrase to the dictionary.

It has nothing to do with the way I am saying it. I speak english and have no accent. These commands worked perfectly before all the recent updates. It is nothing I am doing.

Not what I meant, really.

(For me its ESL anyway. But there have been lot's of English native speaking users here that have had problems with recognition. Myself I did the training 10x2 times. And that is the MS Speech training, not the VAICOM one, which won't be in the Keywords in this particular case anyway).
I had issues before, not anymore. Well, depends. 😉

What does it show when you do the whole command?
I actually didn't pay attention, and forgot to ask about that, apologies!

It still says unrecognized but it does show that it has a confidence level above 85% and reads out exactly the correct command as I said it " Radio Tune 235.90" but just constantly says unrecognized but it records it perfectly.

Yeah, that's a problem. Hmmm.
I have VSPX turned on. Have you?
I will try in DCS too, just too make sure it really works.

I seriously don't know what to say!

Just tested after latest OB patch. Works even better in the module, than outside of DCS. 🤷🏻‍♂️

And I repeat. I'm VAICOM version 2.5.24 and AIRIO version 2.5.11.4

Ya I am running the same VAICOM and AIRIO versions as you. Im not using VSPX. Had major issues with that as well not taking commands. For the last two years I did not have much of any issues and when I did with AIRIO a quick Lua and Keywords reset fixed it but not now. Like I said the weird thing is that initially after the update to VAICOM .26 and AIRIO .11 neither RADIO TUNE, LINK TUNE or SCAN SECTOR was working. THen reverting back to VAICOM .24 and AIRIO .10 got all but the RADIO TUNE working again. I did update again to AIRIO .11 as a I mentioned above and those other commands still work but not RADIO TUNE. The other thing I noticed is the LINK TUNE and SCAN SECTOR are listed in the massive keywords collection but adding in RADIO TUNE to it does allow it to be recognized but still no commands are carried out.
