markmajor Posted January 17, 2022 Posted January 17, 2022 Hey community. Reaching out in a last attempt to fix my oculus quest 2 link. I’ve tried everything from rolling back AMD GPU driver, to shouting at it. I run it from streaming desktop and it works ok, but settings are compromised. The quest app returns a successful link message when I test the connection, but when I try to enable link I don’t get past the three dots. GPU is rx5700xt. Any advice is gratefully accepted!
Insanatrix Posted January 17, 2022 Posted January 17, 2022 If you're using airlink, or if it's enabled for whatever reason, you have to disable that to use the cable link. After you disable it, when you plug the cable in it should ask whether you want to enable data transfer I think, Either way it's an accept or deny prompt. Click deny. Then it should come up with a popup if you want to enable oculus link or whatever it's called. Click yes.

Turn off Windows Defender and make sure windows firewall isn't blocking OVRService, OVRLibrary and OVRRedir and reboot oculus headset and then forget wifi settings and reconnect to wifi 1
markmajor Posted January 18, 2022 Author Posted January 18, 2022 Thank you!!! I will try and report back!
markmajor Posted January 25, 2022 Author Posted January 25, 2022 Unsuccessful! But am convinced you are right. I was unable to turn off defender. It would mark as disabled for about two seconds before reactivating!?? I changed the registry but still over rode the off switch! When I click enable there is an audible and upbeat connection tone followed by a down beat disconnection tone. Something is blocking it. Next step before admitting defeat is to collect data and submit to support team! Thanks for the input
Blackhaze440 Posted January 28, 2022 Posted January 28, 2022 I uploaded a zip with registry commands to disable security. bypasses windows block on turning it off and removing it. Only need to use Win Defender on and off and Realtime protection enable/disable folders. Just click the reg file you want to use press okay when prompt then reboot after you are done. repeat to turn them back on just using the other option to enable Windows Security & Firewall.zip
markmajor Posted February 3, 2022 Author Posted February 3, 2022 This is great. Thanks. Will give it a try
