firefox121 Posted January 25, 2022 Posted January 25, 2022 just open your SimApp utility (download from winwing website), first plug your two devices and run it. You must login with an account created for you. Then setup the aplication to point to your DCS installations folders, main folder and savegames folder. In the utility once logged, go to the keybinding label and let the app search for your dcs modules. Select one of you devices (grip or hotas) , select the module you want to program and search in the right window for it, it should show at least one or more modules of bindings. Donwload it and it will show in the left side, then click the run button, It shoud create an winwing grip (or Hotas) lua in your savegames folder input joystick of the module selected Same with the other device. You can now exit simapp pro utility, and you should see in your users\[username]\saved games\DCS\(Dcs.openbeta)\config\input\[..module..]\joystick two new files WINWING JOYSTICK BASE and WINWING THROTLE BASE or something like that... to know all has worked Then in game go to input blah blah blah in you module, clear the inputs and load the new ones Dont forget to asign yor axes at your preference. Almost all the keys in the FC3 module are the same, as it is a basic flight model(avionics). I use the same for SU27/su 33 and mig (almost the same) and for f15, there are four or five aa modes than can be binded almost same as the su 33 module 1 Intel i9 10850k - MSI Tomahawk 490z - 64 GB DDR4 3000 - HP Reverb G2 - MSI optix Mag321curv 4k monitor - MSI RTX 3080ti - Winwing Orion Throttle base plus F18 stick
DeltaMike Posted January 31, 2022 Posted January 31, 2022 Note you don't have to use simapp, except for calibration, flashing firmware, and deciding whether you want your sliders to act as axes or buttons. Once you've done all that, I'd close simapp (and deactivate in startup folder, you can get at that using task manager) DCS recognizes your hotas, you can program it in game. Wags and grim reapers have YouTube vids on how to do this, and chucks guides also addresses binding Best to get used to this, you'll be doing it a lot. Modules are like pokemon, gotta catch em all. You'll quickly see the benefit of coming up with a consistent scheme as much as possible. So, you'll want to keep basics like comms, brakes, flaps, gear the same from module to module. Same goes for weapons select and sensor control. Muscle memory counts here. Ryzen 5600X (stock), GBX570, 32Gb RAM, AMD 6900XT (reference), G2, WInwing Orion HOTAS, T-flight rudder
