Sledder Posted January 26, 2022 Posted January 26, 2022 Guys I’ve looked at other posts on here with people having similar issues, but can’t really find the answer. My problem is I’ve mapped my Heusinkveld sprint pedals as rudder pedals as per YouTube vids I’ve watched. Ive chosen rudder from the axis menu, inputted clutch as left rudder, then right rudder on the throttle. In the axis tune I’ve changed to slider on both and 50% saturation on both, then inverted the right rudder. When I test it in settings it looks fine, however in game one of the pedals is already engaged before in press them. When I press them they have a mind of their own and very twitchy. if I press the default keyboard command it resets them to their neutral position. I’ve also got IL2 Stormovik and they work fine, so I’m assuming it’s an issue with DCS? Please help. Thanks in advance
RaveyDaveyGravy Posted January 31, 2022 Posted January 31, 2022 Hiya, I use that setup but with G27 pedals (Throttle brake and clutch). Same as you I couldnt get it to work, in DCS, the way you are trying. What I did was set the brake and throttle as one axis in Windows Control Panel and the clutch is always seperate anyhow. Now I can use the brake and throttle as rudder pedals and the clutch as a single "both wheels" wheel brake. Works ok but the middle pedal is heavier sprung as its meant to be a brake pedal, but it works.......
Baldrick33 Posted January 31, 2022 Posted January 31, 2022 (edited) You could use universal controller remapper to create a virtual combined axis using vjoy for the clutch and throttle inputs. I used this for a while with HE pedals before getting rudder pedals. https://www.autohotkey.com/boards/viewtopic.php?t=12249 Optionally given you will have both the native pedals and vjoy device available in DCS you can use a modifier to switch between rudder input and toe brakes. Just assign the axis to a redundant control when not wanted (I used the camera controls which aren’t used in VR) e.g. with modifier not pressed vjoy combined axis = rudder Clutch = redundant axis Throttle = redundant axis with modifier pressed vjoy combined axis = redundant axis Clutch = left toe brake Throttle = right toe brake Start up, press modifier, taxi to runway, modifier off on takeoff run to enable rudder. Vice versa on landing.
