Direct head tracking as pilot (red circle/dot) - the LANTIRN just slews all over the place the second I move my head. It does not follow my TrackIR head movement. So over to RIO cockpit. I bound my Warthog stick trim hat to slew the LANTIRN (up/down/left/right). Again, it just goes all over the place. In fact it just moves up mostly, regardless of my head tracking direction and regardless of my HAT direction. Very frustrating. What am I missing?

UPDATE SOLVED: You can't be in active pause mode as the LANTIRN slew and direct head tracking will just go crazy. Not sure why this happens in the F14. In other aircraft like the F18 and F16, you can slew and use the TGP and other video feeds just fine in active pause.

Active Pause is quirky and with multicrew + Jester it can just create a ton of issues. Just orbit instead.

Yeah I realised that after watching one YouTube tutorial where that problem was mentioned. I was using a lot of active pause as I was new to F14 and learning (the hard way). But AI Jester’s target selection and slewing aside, I do wonder why a human pilot/RIO cannot slew the lantirn properly in active pause, like we can in other modules such as the F18, JF17 and F16.

Because 2 cockpits and multicrew are much more complicated than just a single cockpit. DCS likely runs into issues to manage it properly. Facilitating Multicrew is anything but easy.

Thanks for the insight. Hadn't thought of that. I can appreciate the complexities with 2 pits. Out of curiosity/discussion - I fly only SP. When playing as human RIO, doesn't the AI pilot's VDI basically repeat the RIO's LANTIRN? And if so, could the LANTIRN slewing, at least when as human RIO in SP active pause, not work like in other single pit fighters?
