Hi yall,

Does anyone tinker with the NVIDIA control panel settings for DCS purposes? I bought my first PC a couple weeks ago for DCS specifically and Im trying to lock in the best graphics settings I can get.

Im running a Maingear Vybe - Ryzen 5800X, RTX 3070, 32gb Kingston Fury RAM 3600mhz, 512gb SSD. I have an LG 32'' monitor at 2560x1440 144hz, Gsync compatible. I dont think my FPS/performance right now is bad, but given my limited experience with a PC, I dont know if its optimal and I'm just wondering what more I can get out of my system.

I primarily fly the Viper. No helicopters, so I fly high most of the time.

There are a few youtube videos out there where the users tinker with these settings; both the global settings and program specific settings. There are a number of comments on these videos that claim DCS is not affected by these changes. I'm not sure what to believe. Any info I've found on the forum through a search has been relatively old or not applicable.

I'm currently running most of my settings on high or ultra (if available). MSAA is 4x, SSAA is off, SSLR is on, SSAO is off. Most of the slider bars on the upper right are set at about 65%. Preload bar is low, anisotropic filtering 16x. I also use reshade and I find it adds a nice touch.

The biggest graphical issue I notice are the jagged lines in the distance, especially around mountain peaks or where low clouds meet with mountains when flying high. If I turn SSAA to 1.5x it fixes the problem completely, but at a cost of about 15-20fps. I'm just wondering if adjusting any of the AA settings in the Nvidia control panel would help with the aliasing a little without costing so much FPS. If yes, then I would like to know which settings you change and to what setting?

TIA

Did you find an answer yet to your question? I have almost the same setup. I have not made any changes in the NVIDIA panel, everything is stock.

Hello, I am with the same concern, I have almost the same specifications on my PC and with a high configuration of preferences I keep noticing jagged lines. I never achieved anything with the Nvidia control panels.
Anyway, with the latest Nvidia driver, I noticed that the quality worsened compared to previous versions, so I am currently with the oldest version. With my 3070TI
