Banquo Posted December 11, 2008 Posted December 11, 2008 Hi everyone, First let me say what a great community this is from all the posts I have read and that I am really looking forward to getting Black Shark I have one question about purchasing the English version. I realise it has certain copy protection and please don't hijack this thread - that discussion has been done to death. I have had very positive experiences of Steam and from what I have read negotiations are ongoing with regards to selling BS through Steam. (correct me if I am wrong) My question is; will a potential copy of BS bought through Steam have the same copy protection as one bought through the official DCS website or will it rely on a Steam supplied anti pirate system? Thanks, in advance, for any replys :)
zokier Posted December 12, 2008 Posted December 12, 2008 I'm no offical, but I would say yes. Many recent high-profile games in steam have additional cp/drm-stuff. Steam's own cp is quite weak, and I doubt that it would satisfy ED.
Banquo Posted December 12, 2008 Author Posted December 12, 2008 Thanks for your answer zokier I looked at some other games that use steam this morning and from what I read I have to concur with your response.
ED Team Groove Posted December 12, 2008 ED Team Posted December 12, 2008 What zokier said. STEAM should be seen as a online distribution platform, that's what they are best at. As for your question about a possible protection in STEAM, im sure ED will inform us should there be a STEAM based version of DCS:BS or any further module. /closed Our Forum Rules: http://forums.eagle.ru/rules.php#en
