Hello.
I am not sure if this is the right place to post this tread, a mod can move it to the correct place if its on the wrong section.

I been playing for a about a month now, after a 6+ years break from the game. 
At that time. it was version 1.2 something, i dont remember excact.
But i see not much has changed. maybe under the hood. but i doubt much has been done to the netcode.

Anywho back to topic..
The chat messages should be seperated from the other messages that are broadcasted. 
On a server with 20+ players, the chat get spamed down rather quit at time.
Spamed down with kill messages and connection messages. 

Also.. when connecting to a server there is no need to broadcast that player A,B,C,D,E,F.... has connected to the server when they already are connected. thats kind of stupid of you ask me.  

I would suggest that the chat gets seperated from the other broadcast messages into its own field.

Not much has changed since 1.2?  I'm not sure what you think would be much, but I've seen a lot - especially in the last 24 months. 

As for chat vs broadcast - they're different for me. Chat is on the left side (along with kill and connect/disconnect messges), which I have the option to hide (where only a mail symbol shows). Broadcasted messages show up on the right hand side - in larger text. 

What broadcast messages are going into chat that you're referring to?

you mean a ton of wip|early access planes? then yea sure, but the netcode seams as bad as it was back then.
What i meant by broadcast messages is. kill messages and connection/disconnection messages.  sorry if i got the term wrong and caused confusion.

This what i mean.  i know you can hinde the messages. but that hides everything.
What i am suggestiing is that the chat gets its own field or some option to hide connected|disconnected and kill mesagges, so you only have chat history in there.
Also the part where when you connect to a server. why is it broadcasting all current players on the server as "xyz connecting to server". that seams poor netcoding.

I believe this is configurable server side, as some servers have the "player connected" message and some don't, some have the "player killed" messages and some don't.

I don't host a server, and I don't know where those settings are, maybe it's an add on script for the server.

I was not aware this was a server setting. i have never host a server nor will i ever do.
I just do casual gaming and all the servers i been on i have had all of the messages.

Yeah this stuff is controlled server side by the config file, I have most switched off on my server as it is annoying AF
