swaps Posted March 15, 2022 Posted March 15, 2022 Hi all, Im on the trial for the f-16 c and only have the other free aircraft and free terrain. is there any way I can make a mission with lots of targets who act defensively but do not fire on me ? I want to get some practice locking on with missiles and shooting with guns. I suspect I will end up buying the F16 as it seems good to fly but so much I need to learn. Thanks Alan
Exorcet Posted March 15, 2022 Posted March 15, 2022 (edited) The mission editor is pretty easy to use and there are guides on youtube. Try placing your aircraft, setting your speed and altitude, and selecting your weapons. Then place enemy aircraft, their speed and altitude, and their weapons. Make sure to give AI planes waypoints or they will try to land. Finally set the AI behavior with advanced waypoint actions. You want to set their reaction to threat to No reaction or give them ROE Weapons Hold so they don't attack and then give them an orbit task so they stay in the air. Another alternative is that you can set your plane to be immortal, so that the enemy attacks you but can't destroy you. darkman222 Posted March 15, 2022 Posted March 15, 2022 The question is if you need fancy stuff to start with or if it is sufficient to create a few pretty simple missions for your training and evalutation process. Create a mission with your F16 as player and only one bandit. Duplicate the mission give him missiles or guns only in the duplicate file. And switch between the two missions. Maybe alternate his skill level between several mission files. I have made myself a mission with spawnable enemies but this is on the syria map. And it only sounds good but its not too practical either. Because once the bandit has spawned he cant spawn again, without using scripts . I would use a straight forward approach and create a mission just for the very purpose of your training goals. You can create another missions with just bombers flying away from you to practice locking and missile employment. Place your F16 only 5 nm behind them and use sidewinders. Copy the mission and now place your aircraft 15nm behind the bombers and use Amraams instead. I would not think too complex for this simple training purpose. 1
