I will be keeping the windows installation so I can just drag and drop DCS to the new drive ? its already installed. I can update the shortcut no problem but will DCS not continue to download the updates to the old drive ? I know how to copy and paste command lines but that's about my limit. no idea how to go about installing the game in in parallel, I really just want it all on the new drive. Thanks Alan

Hi, I have been away from DCS for about a year and want to get back into it. DCS wants to update but dive is not big enough. I have another SSD that I can put it on but dont know how to swaps it to the new drive ? I dont want to lose the planes I have and have also thought about going on to the beta. so what is the easiest way to change the drive and maybe go on to beta at the same time without losing my planes ? I dont use trackIR, I use facetracknoIR and have tried AItrack and open track. I found the last 2 much worse at tracking but that could be down to not using an IR source. Thanks

I have it at the bottom, it was much worse when using it from the top. I do have it mounted about 4" hight though. I will try lowering and tilted back like in your diagram. Thanks Alan

Hi all, I use a 32" TV as my monitor this causes problems with head tracking. I use headtrackNOIR, if I put the cam on top of monitor its fine looking left to right and up and down loses track if I go too far. the main problem is looking down to the sides ( im on the F-16) so lots of switches on left and right down low. I also get similar problems if the cam is placed low at the bottom of the monitor. I can left it up 4" but after that its getting in the way of the screen. I'm thinking of trying IR head clip to see if that works better but I really think I will just have the same problems. I am Using the PS3 web cam and have tried other HD web cams and the results are the same. if anything the PS3 cam is a little better. Any suggestions ? Thanks Alan

I hear what your saying but jumping in on servers to fight you dont know where you are going how far you will travel and how much time you will spend in full afterburner in dog fight. It would take me a week looking at the map to try and work that out. Im sure others can doing it but I am looking for fun fights not to become a professor of maths. I will stick with whatever the plane is set to and try to reach the nearest base or air refuel. If I dont make it I will bail out. In most cases I am shot down before reaching bingo fuel so its not that important to me. Thanks Alan

Hi all, I have never set the bingo fuel and did not know you could. I was guessing the plane was calculating its self on how much fuel needed to return to take off base. I am trying flying at half throttle to see what happens but as yet I have not hit bingo due to being shot down lol Thanks Alan

Hi, I have been trying servers this week and loading 2 300 gal external tanks and full onboard fuel tank. after about 15 mins. I am hitting bingo fuel. flying at 3/4 throttle. This does not seem right ? as far I I can see fuel is set to auto so I assume it will feed of the 3 tanks without me having to do anything ? Thanks Alan

There are load of tutorials on youtube by many of the major players on here. I have watched them all and still find it only locks now and again. My latest problem was it not locking at all. Then the next days it with 12 bandits on radar in 2 waves a few miles away from each other and all within 20 miles. It would lock 2 and let me change between which target to shoot at first but it should lock up to 10 and sometime locks the further away targets but not the nearer (12 miles) again only 2 of the group of 6.

I have had a look at that but I have rise of flight and I am not impressed with it. I have never manages a single decent dog fight on it. I have head tracking but the planes seem to be in and out and the one I am flying is way to responsive to control even after putting in curves. I use to play an old game called RED Baron which was great. I love the game. By todays standards if very bad graphically but the game play was good and dog fighting was fun and enjoyable. As II-2 is based on this game I am expecting similar problems and then of course you have to start buying planes again. I know they are cheaper but I would rather stick to this platform. Thanks Alan

Hi all, I download some ww2 fighter / bombers but it seems the mods no longer work. Are there any working mods of this class ? I used to love MS combat flight simulator but cannot get it to run as it should on windows 10 and would love to have the chance to fly against other on here. I'm sure I will buy one from DCS but after changing PC to a high spec to play dcs and buying the F-16 my gaming budget is blown for this year. Thanks Alan

Hi all, I got the ww2 plane mods linked below. https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3303374/ some of them dont show in my list of planes. The Lancaster I can see on main page and if I hover over it says fly now but that is not clickable. the P38 appears in my missions page and offers me quick missions. when I click this is goes to the F10 map and I hear engine noises. flicking through all the f keys give me different outside vies of the plane I an supposed to dog fight but don't see any way to get in my plane and fight ? Anyone have any ideas ? Thanks Alan

They come in in 2 waves 6 in each and one a few miles behind the other. They are quite close but no closer than I have seen them locked on youtube videos and sometime the further planes are locked and not the near one's. I would have thought the near one's around 12 miles should have locked first but maybe you can make out a dot so they could be considered in visual range but they would be the main threat so im sure the programming in the real F-16 would select them as targets first. Hi, I am always change to TWS mode and the bandits at the start are flying straight at me. They only start the notching when they get very close so you have plenty of opportunity to target and shoot at them but im not trying to practice dog fighting. Im trying to practice BVR in this mission and really want to lock all bandits which TMS right should do but I cannot get it to. Have not checked the track but I should be in TWS, if not then I forgot it but in most if not all times I have tried it I have been in TWS. watched the track and was in RWs, tried to get another track and its working better today but not right. A flight of bandits (about 6) in line TMS right will lock 2 of them but not all. I can toggle between the 2 but cannot lock all. TMS right should lock up to 10 bandits ? Thanks Alan

Hi all, Can someone a lot more experienced than me have a look at the attached track and tell me why I cannot get a lock ? TMS up does not work , is that because I am not placing curser over target ? TMS right, both short and long do nothing I get no fire cue in the HUD. I know people have reported problems like this but this could be down to me as I and very new to trying it.
