Fulcrumkiller31 Posted March 23, 2022 Posted March 23, 2022 Would love to see an AIM120 C-7 or even the D come to some of the modern US aircraft. F16/F15E/F18C should all at least be carrying the C7. Given the Meteor is being developed, something more modern would be greatly appreciated. May not be possible but with CFM maybe it is? 2 Computer: I7 12700K OC 5.0 All Cores, EVGA 3070TI FTW 3, MSI Tomahawk Z690 DDR4 WIFI, 64 GB Corsair DDR4 3600 MHz, M.2 NVME 3TB Gear: Virpil T-50CM2 Mongoose Stick, CM3 Base, CM3 Throttle, Logitech Pedals, HP Reverb G2 Modules: F-15E, F-18C, F-16C, F-14, A-10C II, AV-8B, M-2000C, Mirage F1, F-5, AH-64D, MI-24, KA-50, Nevada TTR, Syria, Persian Gulf, Falklands, Sinai, Afghanistan
Northstar98 Posted March 24, 2022 Posted March 24, 2022 AIM-120D is a bit too modern for the F-16 and F/A-18C, they're about a decade too old for it. According to this, AIM-120D capability came on the F-16 with M6.1 starting 2011, which also includes things like the GBU-39 and GBU-54. The D I imagine though, is going to be very hard to get data on, and its expanded D/L functions (allowing a donor to support the missile's mid-course) are a core feature that hasn't even come to existing weapons like the AGM-62, AGM-84E and AGM-84H. AFAIK though, the AIM-120C-7 should be accurate for the F-16 at least (don't think it is for the F/A-18C - where C-5 is already accurate). F-15E will depend on which one they do. 1 Modules I own: F-14A/B, F-4E, Mi-24P, AJS 37, AV-8B N/A, F-5E-3, MiG-21bis, F-16CM, F/A-18C, Supercarrier, Mi-8MTV2, UH-1H, Mirage 2000C, FC3, MiG-15bis, Ka-50, A-10C (+ A-10C II), P-47D, P-51D, C-101, Yak-52, WWII Assets, CA, NS430, Hawk.
