bratwurst Posted December 18, 2008 Posted December 18, 2008 I watched the weapons training mission twice and searched the manual but can't find any clear steps regarding proper target designation. I do the following: 1. master arm 2. selecting outward station 3. laser standby 4. helmet sight system 5. holding (O) looking at target 6. fine adjusting the target box Now what? Holding (O) once more will only mess up the aim due to head movement. Holding "Fire/Enter" doesn't do anything :helpsmilie:
Jeevz Posted December 18, 2008 Posted December 18, 2008 You only need to hold O if you want the Shkval designator to move with the HMS. You have to release O to ground stabilize the Shkval. Then you slew (;,./ keys) it over the target adjust gates and lock the target with Enter. Alternatively you can look where you want the Shkval to go and just tap O to ground stabilize the Shkval where the HMS is.
LIONPRIDE Posted December 18, 2008 Posted December 18, 2008 . I have to agree, the training monologue didn't keep up with the visual representation. It takes a lot of trial and error to get things to work properly for me. Perhaps someone could upload a little better video for our viewing pleasure. I have no problems taking out targets with the Cannon from 1000 meters away, but I can't fire a single Shkval. I have yet to fire a single rocket even  I do select the outward station but the weapons still won't respond. Something is bound to be missing or maybe there is a bug?
Dachs Posted December 18, 2008 Posted December 18, 2008 Did you deselect the cannon? If not, the weapon release trigger is not active. And you need to hold down weapon release for aprox. a second or so. System: Asus z270 A Prime, Intel i7-7700K 4.8GHz, 32GB DDR4, RTX2080, Samsung 500GB 850 EVO SSD. I can keep it pressed for minutes without anything happening.
Jeevz Posted December 18, 2008 Posted December 18, 2008 Enter is lock target. Weapon release is right alt + Space
Guest Greg_O_Fly Posted December 18, 2008 Posted December 18, 2008 This here might help you. http://simhq.com/forum/ubbthreads.php/topics/2626185/STICKY_Tutorial_How_to_take_of.html#Post2626185 I guess you need to check for this part: ***Move cyclic so that the target LOS circle on the HUD is INSIDE the Vikhr launch circle.*** I hope that helps.
bratwurst Posted December 18, 2008 Author Posted December 18, 2008 Enter is lock target. Weapon release is right alt + Space Oh crap that explains it! Here I was pressing "lock target" all day :smartass: Back to mission editing it is then :D Many thanks!
