Ka-50 Radios?

Heya!

 

Finally got this bird in the air and blew some things up, cold start etc are actually much easier than it first looked like, hardest part seems to be FLYING this thing where i want it, goes all around the place no matter wich of them 25 ways to trim it i try... :joystick:

 

But them radios. I found 3 or so radios in this thing, what are they all for? With one of them i managed to contact ground crew, but not flight control nor anything else... Also heard one is for listening to radio stations :huh:

 

Anything out there shed some light on these? How do i set them up for wingmen, tower, and so on?

As long as you turn on Intercom and VHF-2 on the right-hand wall, you should be able to use \ and the function keys to talk to anyone you want to.

To talk to the ground crew when the engines are running or the door is closed. There is a turn-knob on the left panel which you have to turn all the way to the right position to talk through VHF-1.

I'm not getting troops at the front, but I hear some are.....they call for help etc.

I guess you're right. VHF-1 is the second from the left choice on the turn switch and not the rightmost. I believe the manual states that VHF-1 is used to communicate with ground forces -> not implemented ?

From the manual:

 

-> VHF-1 -> The R-828 VHF radio is used for communication with a Forward Air Controller (FAC) and other ground force units.

2. The intercom source selector dial for the SPU-9 has four settings: [/ + LALT + LCTRL]
   
3. "(СА)УКВ-2" (VHF-2) – Selects the VHF-2 R-800L1 radio.
   
4. "УКВ-1" (VHF-1) – Selects the VHF-1 R-828 radio for communications with ground units.
   
5. "КВ" (SW) – Short waves band. Not used.
   
6. "НОП" (Ground crew intercom) – used to communicate with ground crew through the wired telephone. When rearming or refueling at an airfield or FARP, you will need to select this setting to communicate with the ground crew unless the cockpit door is open and the rotors are not turning.

It would be very immersive if you could recieve some generic chatter from ground forces, nothing fancy.
