Moxica Posted May 29, 2022 Posted May 29, 2022 I enter coordinates 69584412 to find a target building. Lazing the point just to find som familiar buildings on the wrong side of me on the chart. On a closer look, it turns out the chart is inverted, and it is impossible to find the correct building. Finding the first target was pure luck. Ramsay Posted May 29, 2022 Posted May 29, 2022 (edited) @Moxica If you are talking of the user created mission pack "Stolen Content - 3 missions for the AH-64D in Syria" Which mission and (TADS ?) chart are you talking of ? Are you sure the issue is "map" related and not related to the mission or AH-64 ? Edit: Assuming you mean M02 - Village, the coordinates look good There's also this video of the mission if it'll help you explain what is wrong Edited May 29, 2022 by Ramsay 1 i9 9900K @4.8GHz, 64GB DDR4, RTX4070 12GB, 1+2TB NVMe, 6+4TB HD, 4+1TB SSD, Winwing Orion 2 F-15EX Throttle + F-16EX Stick, TPR Pedals, TIR5, Win 11 Pro x64, Odyssey G93SC 5120X1440
Moxica Posted May 29, 2022 Author Posted May 29, 2022 (edited) Yes, Ramsay. That's the mission. In mission #2 I was given coordinates for a house. I changed map to "chart" to find it. So I lazed the tg point I created. (As in laze, and miss, looking at the chart to adjust, until I was on top of it with the laser. -In cpg seat). I ended up looking at some empty fields, and using some long buildings in a row as reference, I saw that they were on the wrong position. (Upside down, reversed or flip flopped) And, No, I'm not sure whether it is related to the map, the ah64 or the mission. But I don't see how it can be related to the mission. I'll assume you used map>chart>Sat as the aviation chart and digital elevation types don't show buildings. 2 hours ago, Moxica said: I ended up looking at some empty fields, The co-ordinates look spot on when I create a target point at those co-ordinates. Here the TSD map has been set to "North Up" before being panned, so the target's orientation matches the F10 map. 2 hours ago, Moxica said: ... using some long buildings in a row as reference, I saw that they were on the wrong position. (Upside down, reversed or flip flopped) What can and has caught me out in the past is, when you use "pan" to slew the TSD map, it's orientation is "frozen" to the current heading/mode (until unfrozen with R4). Here, I'm viewing the target while at the FARP and the default map "up" is aligned with the heading 292°M i.e. the south-north roads are running left to right. Perhaps something like this caught you out ? Moxica Posted May 29, 2022 Author Posted May 29, 2022 (edited) It would seem I was caught out. But I slewed towards the target point. Fired laser to update image on the map. But the target was not there, and the tads were looking at wilderness. This goes for both target points. i will try the same mission again now.. I'm not sure how this compares to the Caucasus map, as Syria has been my main AH-64D mission map with Caucasus reserved for training, but it is something I've learn to look out for / be aware of. Moxica Posted May 29, 2022 Author Posted May 29, 2022 (edited) You assumed correctly. I don't know that I froze the map, but "FRZ" it is! Lé culprit. Still, there is some "anomaly"; Here is the target point/coordinates (69584412), and the building on fire. Somewhat "off" to put it mildly. (I'm in VR and drifting, hence the not-centered-building..) null Edited May 29, 2022 by Moxica ASUS ROG Strix B550-E GAMING - PNY GeForce RTX 4090 Gaming VERTO EPIC-X - AMD Ryzen 9 5900X - 64Gb RAM - 2x2Tb M2 - Win11 - Pimax crystal light - HP Reverb g2 - Oculus Quest 2 - Thrustmaster Warthog HOTAS - Thrustmaster Pendular Rudder - 2X Thrustmaster MFD Cougar - Audient EVO8
