My old faithful is is about to give up the hunt.....Trackir5.....!!!

 

 

Im interested in buying another off the shelf item and Id like to hear your thoughts on whats available......thanks in advance.

There are great alternatives:

These use OpenTrack software (or branches of it) and, while it may not be as easy to set up as TrackIR to one's preferences, once it's sorted they work just as good, if not better, are much more robust and also a lot more affordable.

Years ago I got TrackHat Clip with modified PS3Eye camera, which is a much older version (now they use propper IR ready, high-refresh 200Hz+ track cams), and it's just fine.

I think i heard that Vipril or Winwing were to release one ,if they havent done it already.

Any word about that ?
