For a few builds now I have noticed that after setting a DIR to a waypoint, the end of the dark green line doesn't track with the aircraft.  I could have sworn it used to do this, but maybe I am wrong?

In this screenshot, I set the DIR to W01 before I lifted off at the airfield in the upper left.  Shouldn't the end of that line be attached to my ownship icon as I am flying?

This is consistent with behavior of the real aircraft.

Think of it like this: The Route (RTE) page is about setting a route, whether it be a route of several points in a sequence or a direct route from your current position to a point. When you set a Direct route, you creating a Route independent of the Route Menu (RTM) list, from your present position at the time the DIR is set to the selected point. Like the other routes that contain a sequence of points, the Direct route will not move its starting point as the aircraft flies the route.

OK thanks.  I was thinking it did before, but it must have been in one of my (all-to-frequent) dreams I have about DCS now. 🙂

You're not crazy, I believe it did originally before it was corrected.
