Installation Problems

I've had a used Viacom pro for a number of years on my last machine...and am just tryin to install it on my new PC

I've got voice attack installed enabled plug ins and am trying to install Viacom Pro.

The new download is an exe file rather than a zip file and when i run the exe - it doesn't appear to create a profile in the apps folder for me to import. Indeed there doesn't even appear to be a profiles folder in Voiceattack>Apps>ViacomPro only a documentation folder

Any suggestions?

The profile file is not installed but rather is created on the fly the first time you execute VAICOMPRO. There are two possibilities for why this hasn't worked for you: (1) Newer versions of VoiceAttack install in a different location from the other versions and the VAICOMPRO exe installer doesn't know about the new location. Try installing using the ZIP file instead. (2) Some of the important VAICOMPRO files (including the profile) are not created until the first time you actually run VAICOMPRO. This is per documented installation process. So you need to put the VAICOMPRO plugin in the right place, set up the options in VoiceAttack to run plugins, then restart VoiceAttack. When it restarts it will load the VAICOMPRO plugin, which will create the profile. Then you can import it and modify it to your keybinding preferences. Don't forget to run the FINISH step when done.

Thanks for the directions...but still struggling

Tried the Zip file install instead

VoiceAttack running as admin, with plug in support enabled ticked, pasted the ViacomPro folder into the Voice Attack>Apps folder, restarted Voice attack, no plug in detected on start up, no Profile in the ViacomPro folder

What is the Imports folder in VoiceAttack>Apps? Is that relevent?

Any help for either an Exe File or Zip file installation as i'm completely stumped. (Windows 11 if that helps)

Which version of VoiceAttack? Which directory is it installed in? Which directory did you copy the VAICOMPRO folder to?
