The radio messages are sent "live" in the simulation, so the wingman has to be able to receive the entire message in-game before being able to respond to it. Even if the pilot's voice would be removed, there would still be a response delay for the message to actually transmit.

Falcon 4 does not model "live" transmission AFAIK. ;)

Just so we understand each other, the significance of "live" radio traffic is that the simulation actually models (some of) the physics of radio transmission. There is no guarantee that your wingman will respond to your radio call, unless the entire message is successfully received. Not having the radio tuned properly or LOS obstructions will cause problems with reception, even in mid-message. The same is true for your datalink.

Good stuff. I'll just say this sim is just amazing.

The commands seem straight forward for wingman and the manual gives clues to what they will do with those commands, but sometimes it seems like there are other factors in there I'm not seeing. Often I'm saying to myself , "what the Heck are you doing", to be polite.lol. And I will have to call him back to rejoin. I guess we all want that wingman to stay right beside us at times and hit that target we give them. Sometimes he will fly to the right or left then fire, sometimes fly in and fire, or fly in until he's shot down, or fly in and shoot another target all together.
