Tango Posted December 25, 2008 Posted December 25, 2008 (edited) Hi, OK - I've read the manual - how do you do a full alignment of the INU from cold and dark start-up?? The unit is non-responsive to input. It is powered, but I can't get it to do anything. Could someone talk me through the correct switch-flipping, button-pushing sequence please (as it relates to INU power-up, alignment and programming ONLY)? :helpsmilie: Best regards, Tango. GGTharos Posted December 25, 2008 Posted December 25, 2008 Tell us what you're doing to 'make it do something' or better yet ... provide a track :) [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Reminder: SAM = Speed Bump :D I used to play flight sims like you, but then I took a slammer to the knee - Yoda
Tango Posted December 25, 2008 Author Posted December 25, 2008 Hi, I follow the notes from the manual on "Engine Start and Power Tests Procedures" (Page 267). It seems the INU just doesn't want to align (it appears this is automatic, with it getting its position data from the ABRIS?). Best regards, Tango.
GGTharos Posted December 25, 2008 Posted December 25, 2008 The INU is turned on on p278 (5-18) in my manual. It is step 1 in the 'rear panel' section. What's the problem after this step? Tango Posted December 25, 2008 Author Posted December 25, 2008 D'oh!! The problem is INU mode selection!! Page 82: 11. PVI Master Mode selector :D Worked great that time! Best regards, Tango.
Ebodee Posted August 9, 2009 Posted August 9, 2009 (edited) So then on the PVI-800 INU the rerun button to the normal alignment button are placeholders and currently non-functional? I am acustomed to using detailed checklist procedures when I used Flight Simulator in conjunction with complex add-ons. Lotta bells and whistles and 30 min procedures for an A-310. I am just expecting that when I power on the INU I have to then initiate an alignment. So I head on over the PVI-800 and activate one of the alignment pushbutton and nothing happens. Is the INU alignment automatic taking data from ABRIS? Where is the INU getting it's position data? Do I enter that and then select an alignment feature? The docs are not very clear and producer notes non-existent. Matt Wagner doesn't even touch the PVI-800 in his startup procedure. I am treating the PVI-800 as I did the FMC in the A-310 or other complex addon I used in Flight Simulator so to me I should be doing something to help the INU along. Any explanation is great from here on. Edited August 9, 2009 by Ebodee

Ebodee Posted August 9, 2009 Posted August 9, 2009 I was expecting something more .. too bad for me. I already knew about the searched links you copied into your post and manual page you tore out. My expectation was abnormally high and I thought I missed something.
mvsgas Posted August 9, 2009 Posted August 9, 2009 Sorry, what were you expecting? Kamov to deliver a real KA-50? I never played another sim with this much detail. Falcon has a lot for avionics, but flight model is horrible. DCS BS has good graphics, very good avionics and incredible flight model... I'm sorry you disappointed. The Falcon 4.0 FM was horrible yes, however it still is the best fighter combat sim out there until an actual DCS fighter sim.... Hopefully by then we will get a dynamic campaign too.
