Cold start query

Not sure whether it's because I've forgotten or am inept, but I'm struggling to start the engine of the i16.

 

My cold start procedure is:

 - Request ground power on

 - Fuel Valve: Open

 - Revs to around 80%

 - Throttle to around 20%

 - Actuator: On

 - Shunt: On

 - Primer pump: 4-5 pumps

 - Let fuel into the primers for 3-4 seconds for each of the 2 engine parts

 - Energise for around 15 seconds

 - Start the engine

 

Can someone please advise what I'm missing or getting wrong?

After the primer you have to turn on the magnetos.  

So, does the ground crew respond to your request for ground power?  I can't seem to communicate with them and have to do auto start.

Just successfully started it. 

For anyone who doesn't have it, it really is characterful.  Yes, I appreciate that it can't really be used when you're up against K4s, but it's great for ground attack and is a LOT of fun to fly.

Yes it’s a cracking module and really deserved some early war AI assets for some time. As is sadly I’m just not sure what I’m supposed to do with it in the current DCS environment.

Batteries, generator and whatnot are turned on before the start. The "sukebe" guts are turned off. Success rate is about 50/50.
