roybaty Posted December 27, 2008 Posted December 27, 2008 (edited) I can fire the gun, gunpods, and rockets using the Shkval no problem, but guided missiles don't fire even in manual mode? I've been reading the manual and watching the tutorial, I can't figure out what I'm missing. Also some of the smaller panel labels are unreadable so I can't visually confirm switch positions. d0ppler Posted December 27, 2008 Posted December 27, 2008 your "pipper" must be within the shkval spot, then you'll see a "C" in your hud. press and hold the fire button and enjoy the mayhem :) A-10C, AV-8B, Ka-50, F-14B, F-16C, F-5E, F/A-18C, L-39, Mi-8, MiG-21, MiG-29, SA34, Spitfire, Su-27, Su-33, UH-1H
Boberro Posted December 27, 2008 Posted December 27, 2008 The best if your pipper is in Shkval spot, you will see "C" symbol - you can fire. Also you can force manual shoot with wider angle than normal but not too wide due of Vikhr beam lost. 1 Reminder: Fighter pilots make movies. Bomber pilots make... HISTORY! :D | Also to be remembered: FRENCH TANKS HAVE ONE GEAR FORWARD AND FIVE BACKWARD :D ಠ_ಠ ツ
littlejohn1959 Posted December 27, 2008 Posted December 27, 2008 right-shift plus o = laser on . that was my problem until someone ,, enlightened me . the laser has to be ,, on ,, for the vikars . happy shootin mate . cheers from here . 1 [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
roybaty Posted December 28, 2008 Author Posted December 28, 2008 I had been switching on the laser standby switch on the left console below the comm panel (at least I thought that was the laser designator standby). I find that if I mash the weapons release button twice a missile launches :wassat:. I'll give your idea a try littlejohn.
Satoshi Posted December 28, 2008 Posted December 28, 2008 Are you just hitting the button or holding it down? You have to hold down the fire button for a second or two before it will launch.
roybaty Posted December 28, 2008 Author Posted December 28, 2008 I tried holding it for a few seconds, then just started mashing on it. Maybe it's a delayed response from the Saitek software? BTW, I'm using a Saitek X52 stick with the December 2008 BETA drivers. Are you just hitting the button or holding it down? You have to hold down the fire button for a second or two before it will launch.
Tango Posted December 28, 2008 Posted December 28, 2008 Hi, If in AUTO, you need to be within launch parameters before you are cleared to fire by the fire control system. If in manual mode, check: * Master Arm ON * Vikhr selected You can fire snap-shot with the Vikhr if you really want, but it's not recommended. Best regards, Tango.
Cobalt-VN Posted December 28, 2008 Posted December 28, 2008 importent things for ATGMs (auto mode) you want to first make sure master arm is on and your outer pylons are selected..indicated by the green light above the outer stations uncage your Shkval and lock up your target make sure laser is on (up position) make sure you are with in the max shooting range 8km(tho I go for closer to 7km) most inportant is to over lap the pippers and you will get the 'C' shoot que I use as an optional thing is the auto turn to target mode as well but this is only really needed for moving targets then press what ever button you mapped the release weapons too(note most times it is not the trigger) and hold it for a second or so and it should rip off the rail down range tward a target who day is about to take a turn for the worse :D
Harlock Posted December 28, 2008 Posted December 28, 2008 You can not fire the missiles if you are in cannon mode, you need to "flick" down the cannon trigger before the missile launch one will function. Or that is how I got mine to work.
VMFA117_Poko Posted December 28, 2008 Posted December 28, 2008 I tried holding it for a few seconds, then just started mashing on it. Maybe it's a delayed response from the Saitek software? BTW, I'm using a Saitek X52 stick with the December 2008 BETA drivers. You may have problem as I did with profiler. Try to press RAlt + Space on a keyboard. If it works then it means everything is ok but profiler no go well... I assign fire button directly in game and deleted function in profiler.
MidSilence Posted December 28, 2008 Posted December 28, 2008 I tried holding it for a few seconds, then just started mashing on it. Maybe it's a delayed response from the Saitek software? BTW, I'm using a Saitek X52 stick with the December 2008 BETA drivers. Please, could you tell how to get these drivers? Thanks!
roybaty Posted December 28, 2008 Author Posted December 28, 2008 Master arm is on Shkval is uncaged and has acquired target Laser switch on left console is on Outer pylons selected (Vikhr). Target is at my 12 o'clock Pippers overlapped I'm within 5KM I still have to hit the button a couple of times to launch. Also I remapped the weapons release keys to take the Saitek issues with right and left modifiers keys out of the equation. MidSilence, Here is the Saitek forum post for the BETA drivers, http://www.saitekforum.com/showthread.php?t=16232
