kingle92 Posted July 15, 2022 Posted July 15, 2022 Hello all, I'm pretty new in DCS World and I have some problem with the camera in F2 mode. I'm not sure if this is on purpose or a bug. When I'm in the F1 cockpit view and move the mouse to the left, the camera moves too the left too, so fine so good. But when I switch to F2 external mode and I move the mouse to the left, the camera moves to the right. Same for up-and down. Inverting the axes also changes the behaviour in F1 view... Compared to other simulation games I play and I came from this setting is really weird in my eyes. If this is on purpose, it would be great to get a seperate setting in the future for F1 and F2 mode so you can set it like you want it, so to be able to just invert the axis in F2 mode but leave them like they are in F1 mode for example. So everyone can have their prefered settings here. Regards
Grodin Posted August 9, 2022 Posted August 9, 2022 (edited) This issue has been around since forever. I hate it too, using external views is really really annoying the way it is and inverting the whole control is not an option because then everything else is also inverted. There really should be a checkbox option to invert mouse axis in external views, i would guess something like that shouldn't be too hard to program. Or alternatively just add new commands for external views then we can just swap the axis there and keep cockpit stuff as it is. Tholozor Posted August 9, 2022 Posted August 9, 2022 I've always thought of the mouse movement in F2 as the direction I'm spinning the object the camera is focused on, not the direction of the camera itself. 1 REAPER 51 | Tholozor VFA-136 (c.2007): https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3305981/ Arleigh Burke Destroyer Pack (2020): https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3313752/
