blewis Posted July 20, 2022 Posted July 20, 2022 Just ordered a new winwing orion 2 joystick to replace my bricked thrustmaster joystick. Will run the orion2 joystick with the thrustmaster throttle. I am concerned about the problems I have read about simapp pro and DCS. I do not care if I use the rumble feature or not. Do you need simapp pro for any other functionality or is there a third party app that you can use?
speed-of-heat Posted July 20, 2022 Posted July 20, 2022 you can use it to set up buttons on axis, axis curves, dead zones and things of that sort, but it doesnt need to be resident (at least it doesnt with my combat and landing panels) after its been set SYSTEM SPECS: Hardware AMD 9800X3D, 64Gb RAM, 4090 FE, Virpil T50CM3 Throttle, WinWIng Orion 2 & F-16EX + MFG Crosswinds V2, Varjo Aero SOFTWARE: Microsoft Windows 11, VoiceAttack & VAICOM PRO YOUTUBE CHANNEL: @speed-of-heat
Bazz_Mulder Posted July 20, 2022 Posted July 20, 2022 As speed wrote. You need it in background just for f16ex rumble feature and eventually to sync throttle base lightning with dcs. Apart of that it's just advanced joystick control panel Kowalsky - "Fox 3" simply means that you have commitment issues
rob10 Posted July 20, 2022 Posted July 20, 2022 Not sure you'll need it to set anything up if you're just using the joystick, but if you do, double check that it didn't insert a line in the export.lua (delete the line if it did) and you don't ever need to run it again. You can just bind everything in DCS. Some people use various 3rd party software for managing binds, but there is no need to if you don't want/have a need to.
