lee1hy Posted July 23, 2022 Posted July 23, 2022 (edited) The engine sound is like gas burner. Did you ever get it from YouTube RIAT 2013 TAKE OFF SOUND?? also has several sounds missing in cockpit It's still EA, so I think the sound will improve. right? Snuten Posted March 19 Posted March 19 Im surprised that so few mention this, but it do sound dull and weird. And has a very short audio loop. Im not an expert in how the F1 Mirage should sound, but with the afterburner running I get reminded of the sound when I was a kid and running downhill fast with my skateboard. The sound from the tiny wheels against the asfalt. 1 Ryzen 7 7800x3D, 32GB, Nvidia RTX 4090, Nvme SSD's, HP Reverb G2, Oculus Q3, Open XR
EricToGo Posted March 20 Posted March 20 First off I should probably say that I never heard an F1 in real life before so I'll base myself on recordings here. I have heard quite a bunch of others though. I think the characteristics of the sound are represented really well. One very good example of an F1 sounding like the DCS one can be found here, just watch it for a few minutes and you'll hear it pretty quickly I think. As it is with most F1 recordings you can find on the Internet, the quality of the recordings usually isn't that great considering the age of the plane. It generally is quite hard to record the full spectrum of a jet engine with the really low growling. What I think the F1 sound lacks in DCS is range, mostly downwards. I don't know how to put it in one word, but something like room size. It sounds very precise, distinct, clear and crisp. Personally I feel it's lacking the low range and maybe the background of air masses being moved. 2
