X32Wright Posted December 29, 2008 Posted December 29, 2008 (edited) HI, I bought the English copy of BS online. It installed and activated okay but Whenever I try to do a REPLAY, or TRAINING or INSTANT ACTION the program freezes after LOADING TERRAIN or Initializing EFFECTS. Vista just reports DCS has Stopped Responding and it will go back to the game menu as if it loaded a TRAINING or TRACK already when in fact it did not. I have looked at the threads on here and they did not help me much. The program is isntalled on the default (program X86) folder. Installing it on its own folder also did not work. I also tried the WinXP compatibility mode and that also did not work as well as 'Run as Administrator'. I tried WINDOWED and FULL SCREEN mode with various resolutions from 1024x768 to 1280x1024 and it still crashes. I don't see any reference to this application in Events Viewer at all either. No crash log in the TMP folder either. I also tried to delete everything in the TMP folder and run the application again with same results. The Error log shows nothing much. I am running on Vista X64 Home Premium on an HP m9300t (Intel Quad Core) with 4GB and 8600GT. PS: Direct-X and OpenGl libraries works because I can run Il-2 1946. X32Wright Posted December 31, 2008 Author Posted December 31, 2008 (edited) SO nobody has any idea why I am having this problem even DCS itself? Tried reinstalling video card driver and trying the new one, no go Reinstalled sor no go Removed --console line on the application target link, no go Tried to change resolutions and full and windowed mode, no go. tried to change Processor Affinity to 1,2,3 and 4 processors with the DCS.exe and still would just have a NO RESPONSE indication from Vista the the DCS application is terminated automatically. Yes I do watch the DCS.exe process in the Task Manager. NPClient.dll is Windows Defender (I think but could also be Natural Point's dll for TRACK IR? Which I don't have) but I don't have that running. Hmm does anybody have any idea on how to remove this .dll? X32Wright Posted January 3, 2009 Author Posted January 3, 2009 (edited) Okay I reinstalled BS again and I have a new situation: It is now ASKING for a Disk in E: while this BS was an online puchase! I did not see an activation window this time while two previous installs I did. update: Re-activated it again and re-installed the application twice now and the same, Insert disk into E Drive:. The NPClient.dll error is now gone. Edited January 3, 2009 by X32Wright OS:Vista X64 Home Premium,Intel Quad Core,4GB,Antec 650W Trio,PNY 8600GT 512,X-Fi Gamer,Saitek X-45,Saitek Pro Pedals.
X32Wright Posted January 4, 2009 Author Posted January 4, 2009 Ok I downloaded BS again last night and uninstalled the old one and reinstalled it using the 'new' downloaded files thinking maybe my original download was damaged or corrupted. I got the same problems, like the original with NPCLient.dll again. So I give up! I dont know what else to do. It makes me wonder if this applictaion was ever 'heavily' beta-tested in x64 bit environment before any 'release candidate' was done! 1 OS:Vista X64 Home Premium,Intel Quad Core,4GB,Antec 650W Trio,PNY 8600GT 512,X-Fi Gamer,Saitek X-45,Saitek Pro Pedals.

X32Wright Posted January 6, 2009 Author Posted January 6, 2009 Okay a solved my problem! A friend of mine indicated that NPClient.dll is a .dll used by Freetrack and i was wonderign why I have this .dll sicne I did not install Freetrack. On a Google search I noticed that NewView also uses the same .dll. So I uninstalled NewView and removed all references to it in the Registry and BS now works!!! I do hope that this would help somebody else. OS:Vista X64 Home Premium,Intel Quad Core,4GB,Antec 650W Trio,PNY 8600GT 512,X-Fi Gamer,Saitek X-45,Saitek Pro Pedals.
