VR Mirror as scalable window / Option to toggle goggle overlay

A VR Mirror as scalable window would be very helpful for content creators. Square mirror loses too much quality zooming in. WMR mirror is also useless.
Also an option to switch off the goggle overlay (funny black frame) would be nice.

Oculus has a built in Mirror Tool,
DCS Also allows you to change resolution and Aspect Ratio of the VR Window Now:

Do you mean this setting: Use DCS System Resolution / Crop to Rectangle? Have you ever tried this yourself? This is the result:

I don't have an Oculus. And I am talking about the DCS Mirror.

I have a G2, I tried Steam VR and Open Composite. Either the mirror is square or it has the wrong aspect ratio.

So once again. A scalable window for the DCS mirror would be great.

Here is another picture. With Discord you have no possibility to zoom / crop the image. Either you take the Destop and have no audio, or the Mirror, which then looks like this.
Not very nice...

Apologies, I've been swamped at work, and having some GPU Driver issues w/ VR the last couple days.
Also I Use OBS most of the time, as I can Crop it there if needed.

Once I get my drivers situated I will double check my settings.

Also working with fellow testers, we may have a partial solution, I will keep you posted.

Looked into it,

My method doesnt work fully with DCS,

Aside from Changing the Vertical resolution to 2160 (1920x2160), DCS Window will be correct aspect ratio, but it will only cut from bottom, so "Screen Center" is actually below the bottom crop.

I will look into it more, and see If I can come up with a defined method

Thank you.

Yes, of course you can zoom and crop in OBS. Since the quality gets worse, you can increase the resolution of the monitor. Then you might get an acceptable picture. I have done all this:
- Removed the funny black frame (what is that for anyway?).
- Monitor resolution from HD to 4K
- Hide taskbar (so that the mirror has some more space)
- Zoomed / cropped in OBS

(Made a workshop of this, link with PN)

Of course setting the resolution so high costs performance and the whole thing is a bit ... cumbersome. And I don't think it's a professional solution either....

So why not think about my suggestion again? A scalable and resolution adjustable mirror would solve all this. Others can do that after all (ok Microsoft obviously not 😉 )
