FPS weirdness with Oculust Quest 2

I flew a downloaded ah64 mission yesterday. It had the worst fps in my Oculus quest 2.
After a while I could not take it, so I paused and "Ctrl-alt-del" and opened task manager.
Good time to go downstairs and refill my coffe.
Coming back I un-paused and re-entered the mission, and it was totally fine.
Wut?
I have recently moved the game folder from a spinning disk (E:) to a hefty 2TB NVMe SSD disk (F:)
(Old disk not necessarily giving bad fps)
It used to be 80% plus activity to that E drive before I moved it.
BUT; Upon exiting the game yesterday, I noticed real heavy traffic to that old E drive. Usage fading as the game was ending.
That made me suspiscious-ish. What is accessing that drive?

-Because I have experienced that bad FPS suddenly gets better if I active pause for a while and wait until it settles.
It is like the game need more loading time after I have started the mission.   -Non Steam version

Any of you gentlemen have any thoughts/experiences/theories/wisewords/hunches regarding this?

Could be the virtual memory, make sure you're configured to only use one page file on the fastest drive.
