JSal16 Posted August 9, 2022 Posted August 9, 2022 Hello, I'm a few months away from jumping into DCS using my Oculus Quest 2. What are some tricks, tips, suggestions, best practices, recommendations, etc? I'd love to learn from this group that has gone through the experience. Thank you!

Welcome@JSal16 DCS in VR is a unique experience. I've been flying DCS in VR for years now and I still feel like a kid in a candy store each session. Sure, it's a constant "struggle" to find balance between quality and performance and you need a 2nd mortgage, but imho, it's all worth it You might want to check out the VR sub-forum here: https://forum.dcs.world/forum/302-virtual-reality/ The sheer amount of tips, tricks and tweak threads there will probably be a bit overwhelming (maybe even discouraging), but most folks here are eager to help you out if you get lost in the jungle of information. All I can advise you, from my personal experience; don't expect too much graphical eye candy (especially turn down your expectations when coming from a 4K screen). If you overestimate VR, you'll only get disappointed, if you underestimate or just don't expect too much of VR, your mind will be blown! (I'm kinda jealous about the "wow!" moment you'll be having ) System specs: i7-8700K @stock speed - GTX 1080TI @ stock speed - AsRock Extreme4 Z370 - 32GB DDR4 @3GHz- 500GB SSD - 2TB nvme - 650W PSU HP Reverb G1 v2 - Saitek Pro pedals - TM Warthog HOTAS - TM F/A-18 Grip - TM Cougar HOTAS (NN-Dan mod) & (throttle standalone mod) - VIRPIL VPC Rotor TCS Plus with ALPHA-L grip - Pointctrl & aux banks <-- must have for VR users!! - Andre's SimShaker Jetpad - Fully adjustable DIY playseat - VA+VAICOM - Realsimulator FSSB-R3 ~ That nuke might not have been the best of ideas, Sir... the enemy is furious ~ GUMMBAH
