cuervo111 Posted August 13, 2022 Posted August 13, 2022 Hey, maybe I am missing something but the A/G piper doesn't seem to take range into account correctly? Bullets fall way short of the piper every time, unless I'm really really close to the target, about to crash! Is this how it is supposed to be? Maybe it doesn't take into account range/speed or something else and it's more of a guide like old school fighters? Or is it a bug? Or am I missing something and doing it wrong? I followed Chucks guide. DCS Rosetta, my automatic DCS mission and campaign translator: https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=233877
Napillo Posted August 14, 2022 Posted August 14, 2022 Depends on what you're targeting - ground targets, it shows you the range the bullets could travel, something like 2nm or so, and if you're not within that range, it's going to be inaccurate. If you're over that range, it will still show you where you would hit if there were something 2nm away from you, which doesn't really help, but it's not like you could hit anything accurate at greater than 2nm anyway.
Foogle Posted August 15, 2022 Posted August 15, 2022 You have to wait for the pipper to start moving up in the hud, that's the cue that it's in range. It's a low velocity 23mm gun, don't expect amazing range out of it. 1
