markturner1960 Posted August 16, 2022 Posted August 16, 2022 (edited) I am trying to learn the basics of the Viper currently. Have hit a problem with the radios operation, am following youtube guides and Chucks guide, but what should happen according to the guides is not. Here is a link to the track: https://www.dropbox.com/s/j9tc9tx9rz2h63g/viper radio.trk?dl=0 First I try to change a pre set, all goes as it should until I press "enter" for the new preset ( in my case 132.00 for Guadata ) You can see the frequency stays flashing and when I check to see if its taken, it has not. Then when trying Chucks quick trick on page 630 in the guide to quickly change pre set channels by using the DED increment switch, you can see that once the arrows are in the preset section, pressing the increment switch does not cycle the channels up or down a sit should..... Any ideas why this is happening please? Finally and it may be related, when trying to change the TACAN band from X to Y, I cant get the arrows or selector down onto the X or Y to change them...... Thank you Edited August 16, 2022 by markturner1960 System specs: PC1 :Scan 3XS Ryzen 5900X, 64GB Corsair veng DDR4 3600, EVGA GTX 3090 Win 10, Quest Pro, Samsung Odyssey G9 Neo monitor.
Solution skywalker22 Posted August 16, 2022 Solution Posted August 16, 2022 (edited) 1st of all, UHV (COM 1) is over 225.00 (up to 399.75). VHF band (COM 2 key on ICP) is in range between 116.00 and 151.975. Rule of thumb: 1XX.xxx is AM, XX.xx is FM, 2/3XX.xxx is UHF 2nd of all, to change Tacan from X to Y you just press key 0 and enter. And ones again repeat to come from Y to X. Edited August 16, 2022 by skywalker22
