BaD CrC Posted January 28, 2009 Posted January 28, 2009 F16 front panel is likely to be narrower than the Ka-50 front panel as aerodynamics doesn't look as critical for the latter than for the gorgeous F16 design. Hence the 20 cm difference? Thanks Simpit for centralizing all the data for the builder. I believe we can make things go faster and nicer by team working. https://www.blacksharkden.com http://discord.gg/blacksharkden
Simpit Posted January 28, 2009 Author Posted January 28, 2009 I agree with you. If you know the correct dimensions, let me know. The Frontpanel of my F16-Pit is clearly below 80 cm. But the dimensions of the Ka-50 are estimated. The advantage of a smaller pit are obviously, if you don´t have a hangar for your pit. But if anyone have the realistic dimensions, I´ll change it. I don´t say, the triggerhappy´s design isn´t realistic. Triggerhappy69 Posted January 29, 2009 Posted January 29, 2009 (edited) Sorry guys.. Had a computer crash on my CAD Computer.. But I managed to fix it.. Seems to be the Chipset that has overheated.. As far as "realistic" goes I have no idea if I am spot on with my drawings. I have worked from the assumption that the largest gauges on the Front Instrument Panel are 75mm in diameter. And scaled everything accordingly.. I got the 75mm reference from a russian site describing different RU instruments. .. They really do have some interresting engineering in RU Aero industry electronics, at least compared to western..? It's rugged, but it works, and it doesn't look like it's going to break down anytime soon.. LoL Ps. I have e-mailed the Front Pedestal drawings to you SimPit. Working on the Pedals complete drawings now, and after that comes the Lower Left panel. Question..? Do you want the main structure drawings first? Or should I start on the APU-Panel and R-800 and-so-on before moving to the next structural module (Lower Right Panel)? BaD CrC Posted January 29, 2009 Posted January 29, 2009 Personnaly, I ordered all the components for the right panel (power supply, pumps, fuel vanes, fire extinguisher,...) as it seems to be the easiest to start with (only switches), so I wouldn't mind if you have some dimensions for this part. But that is just me. https://www.blacksharkden.com http://discord.gg/blacksharkden

I´ll try to publish the files next days and will inform you. The instrument you found is a good basis to calculate the dimension. I think the panels in the front-area (i.e. PUI 800 etc.) of the pit are the most important parts. soup55 Posted January 29, 2009 Posted January 29, 2009 BaD CrC, Would you mind telling where you ordered your parts from? It would be of great help! Thanks! Sincerely, Soup55 KSC [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] SOUP55:matrix:
BaD CrC Posted January 29, 2009 Posted January 29, 2009 Hi soup55, Opencockpits.com, but it's in Europe (Spain). You may want to find a store in the US considering the euro/dollar exchange rate these days. https://www.blacksharkden.com http://discord.gg/blacksharkden
BaD CrC Posted January 29, 2009 Posted January 29, 2009 Guys, Found these absolutely priceless pics from Ka 50 cockpit. I'm pretty sure it can help to determine dimensions. Check this out: All the pictures here: http://walkarounds.airforce.ru/avia/rus/kamov/ka-50/ https://www.blacksharkden.com http://discord.gg/blacksharkden
BaD CrC Posted January 29, 2009 Posted January 29, 2009 Did you notice the hidden device on the HUD side? I'm so curious now about what it can be. Check out also the overhead panel pic. There is something missing in the DCS BS cockpit. https://www.blacksharkden.com http://discord.gg/blacksharkden
Simpit Posted January 29, 2009 Author Posted January 29, 2009 (edited) Ok, a few files are uploaded: http://home.arcor.de/simpit/Downloads/Black_Shark/black_shark.html Further files will follow in the next days. BaD CrC Posted January 29, 2009 Posted January 29, 2009 Works fine for me. Pretty good looking job Triggerhappy. looking forward to see your work for the panels. https://www.blacksharkden.com http://discord.gg/blacksharkden
Simpit Posted January 30, 2009 Author Posted January 30, 2009 Give me the true value of only one analog gauge of the Ka-50 and we will specify the realistic dimensions :smilewink:. Swetrekki Posted January 30, 2009 Posted January 30, 2009 (edited) well it states the dimensions for the ABRIS here... not an analogue gauge but it should work just aswell http://trekki.no-ip.org/images/photos/Blackshark/ABRIS_eng.pdf 220Х260Х147 mm; 5,5 kg Edited January 30, 2009 by Swetrekki
BaD CrC Posted January 30, 2009 Posted January 30, 2009 Swetrekki, this is brillant stuff you found!! This is gonna help me a lot. Let's go to work!! Triggerhappy, does it match your drawings? https://www.blacksharkden.com http://discord.gg/blacksharkden
Swetrekki Posted January 30, 2009 Posted January 30, 2009 i cant take credit for it, i found it on the dsc forum, but cant remember who posted it. It seems if read the right drawing from trigger that his ABRIS is a bit smaller, but i will leave the final word to trigger on that one. If you dont plan on drawing everything from scratch yourself, i would recommend gooing for triggers measurements as he's got most things drawn already and it fits together.
Simpit Posted January 30, 2009 Author Posted January 30, 2009 (edited) Well, now I agree. Triggerhappy´s Pit is scale. Only his ABRIS is a bit too small. the ABRIS reaches up to the Shkval-Monitor: Edited January 30, 2009 by Simpit Kind regards Hans Dieter Intel® Core™ Ultra 5 245KF, ASUS ROG STRIX B860-A GAMING WIFI, Mainboard, ASUS PRIME LC 240 ARGB, Wasserkühlung, Corsair DIMM 64 GB DDR5-5200 (2x 32 GB) DualKit, Arbeitsspeicher, SAMSUNG 990 EVO Plus 2 TB, SSD, Thermaltake Toughpower GF A3 Snow 1050W, PC-Netzteil, ZOTAC GeForce RTX 5060 Ti Twin Edge OC 16GB, Grafikkarte -- Patch: 2.9 uptodate
Simpit Posted January 30, 2009 Author Posted January 30, 2009 The dimensions of the middle-console is circa 201 mm. the PUI 115 cm. Do you agree? Simpit Posted January 31, 2009 Author Posted January 31, 2009 Simpit seems to have uploaded more Triggerhappy drawings. Further drawings will follow, but I´ve not yet side panels! But I will soon create the most important panels for targeting and autopilot on the base of triggerhappy´s dimensions and the ABRIS-documentation of Swetrekki. 1 Kind regards Hans Dieter Intel® Core™ Ultra 5 245KF, ASUS ROG STRIX B860-A GAMING WIFI, Mainboard, ASUS PRIME LC 240 ARGB, Wasserkühlung, Corsair DIMM 64 GB DDR5-5200 (2x 32 GB) DualKit, Arbeitsspeicher, SAMSUNG 990 EVO Plus 2 TB, SSD, Thermaltake Toughpower GF A3 Snow 1050W, PC-Netzteil, ZOTAC GeForce RTX 5060 Ti Twin Edge OC 16GB, Grafikkarte -- Patch: 2.9 uptodate
