walt262 Posted September 3, 2022 Posted September 3, 2022 I've purchased a gaming computer system in the hopes of running DCS in the higher end recommended requirements. The only issue I foresee is my internet speed is around 25 Mbps at best and th recommended requirements are 50Mbps or better. If I run DCS at the 25Mbps will I have issues with trying to run the high graphics and multi player modes?

A really busy server, you may have issues, yes. A lesser populated or private server, probably not an issue. Where you WILL have issues, is downloads, especially if you accumulate maps, and with the very frequent patches that sometimes run into 10s of GB (note I own nearly every module, so your mileage will vary). Ultimately, I'd say the bigger issue is are you planning on mostly offline or mostly online? Because playing online will require freqeuent updates. Playing offline, you can just update when your chosen aircraft gets major updates (which may be never if it's an older or mostly finished aircraft). walt262 Posted September 3, 2022 Author Posted September 3, 2022 I plan on do mostly single player and some multiplayer.
Dragon1-1 Posted September 4, 2022 Posted September 4, 2022 Well, I'm managing with the downloads on a 1Mbps connection. Shared with the whole family. No, I don't do MP, and download speeds are dreadful, but patches are infrequent enough that it's otherwise playable. I don't own every map or even every module (mostly skipped WWII and the trainers), which helps, but large patches are still annoying to download.
