markturner1960 Posted September 17, 2022 Posted September 17, 2022 Hi, what would cause the option for CPG HMS NOT to be available ( or showing) on MPD when you go into ACQ? Fairly often when flying as CPG ( I am just spending time doing this now so somewhat new to the nuances etc) that option is not there, for when I want to slave the TADS to my HMS. Solution Floyd1212 Posted September 17, 2022 Solution Posted September 17, 2022 It is likely that your HMD is the current Sight, and so it is therefore unavailable to be the Acquisition Source at the same time.
markturner1960 Posted September 17, 2022 Author Posted September 17, 2022 aaaahhh...thx System specs: PC1 :Scan 3XS Ryzen 5900X, 64GB Corsair veng DDR4 3600, EVGA GTX 3090 Win 10, Quest Pro, Samsung Odyssey G9 Neo monitor.
markturner1960 Posted October 2, 2022 Author Posted October 2, 2022 (edited) So I have revisited this, and find that once I am in that situation, its often very tricky to switch out and get the option back in the MPCD. Can someone clarify the procedure for easily switching? If I am in that situation, IE the HMD is My current sight, then it should be a simple matter of selecting sight on the TEDAC, but often I find I can press away and it does not. Also, if thats the case, then why is the option not there on the display already boxed ( if I am in that mode) ? I mean if I am CPG and using the HMD as sight, then I presume it shpould display on the MPCD as it does when it is there to choose as an option? Hope I am explaining that OK...... I dont quite understand how it all works.... Thanks.... kgillers3 Posted October 2, 2022 Posted October 2, 2022 (edited) So if you’re using hmd as a sight, there’s not really a purpose to acquisition your head (ghs from cpg as ex) because it’s already tracking your head, the cued los reticle would be latched to your los if that makes sense. If you’re flying at night and have nvs on you cannot sight select tads. If pilot has nvs and has selected tads as their sensor, you cannot sight select tads. Or if tads is turned off, I’m sure I’m missing something but you should be able to sight select tads generally in most other conditions and the acquisition option for ghs should become available too you. Sight select is on the tedac handle or the mission grip of the collective, nothing with the mpd pages. Then you would use the mpds to select your desired acquisition source As far as it being blocked, just a stupid idea but you are bore sighting your ihadss right? I don’t think that would be it but maybe. Nvs off tads is displayed in the lower left corner? And anything other than ghs in the lower right and ghs is has a barrier?
