Easy Flight Model - for Xbox & PS style controllers

Hello rotor Heads 🙂

Any chance of having an unrealistic and forgiving flight model for people with really basic / common gaming input i.e. you're typical dual Analog style console controller?

A great combination would be a console controller for flight,  targeting and firing weapons, and releasing CM. The basics. You are able to let go of the Analog sticks without the helo losing control.

Plus using the mouse to look around the cockpit and press buttons. ( please combine mouse look and mouse clicking into one,  where cross hair is centred)

I think it would open DCS up to a bigger audience, due to the common place of these type of controllers. Many people are put off, especially helicopters due to the large investment in hardware to play properly.

As well as for DCS'ing while travelling. It's easy to pack ab Xbox controller in with your laptop.

Perfect for when a friend comes over and you both can easily fly a mission together,  since any gamer would find this control system intuitive.

I know Black Shark had an arcade mode,  but that took away much of the magic that makes DCS awesome. You want to be able to play a full simulation, just with more accessible and common input system. Console controller and mouse.

Thanks 🙂

I'm just getting back to DCS by setting up an Xbox controller for F-5E. On your original "request", ED has already made a leap in general to enable this type of gameplay. Many modules have various assists you can enable in settings.

What I wanted to tell you though, I advise revising your approach. Instead of counting on some changes to... happen in DCS, in my opinion you should tailor your gameplay to the controller you're using. Long story short, fly cautiously and rely more on automation. In my case with the Xbox controller and F-5E, I won't be attempting shooting off mosquito balls. I'll be counting on creating a cloud of projectiles enemy aircraft will fly through 🙂
