nachinus Posted September 18, 2022 Posted September 18, 2022 I read that you can use Nvidias Gsync with a monitor listed as amd Freesync but with no Gsync capabilites listed. Have any of you tried this in dcs? Im looking for a new monitor and its performance with this sim is the 1st and foremost consideration. Thanks in advance.

nachinus Posted September 19, 2022 Author Posted September 19, 2022 Thanks for the vids. I have no experience with this sync tech and I don't know if it works independently of the game or it may work ok in some games and cause glitches in others. That's why I was wondering if any dcs user is using g-sync in a no g-sync listed monitor in this way.

nachinus Posted September 19, 2022 Author Posted September 19, 2022 Well I'd like to avoid having to return a monitor XD . Currently I'm just considering G-Sync compatible listed monitors, but there are some non listed ones with really good prices that do have Freesync.

addman Posted September 21, 2022 Posted September 21, 2022 I've had several monitors which weren't advertised as g-sync compatible but when I checked in nvidia control panel they where and I activated g-sync and it worked! Like, many monitor makers don't bother going through the "nvidia validation process" for getting that g-sync stamp. I think most, at least gaming monitors, are g-sync compatible these days. Just make sure to use a displayport cable and not hdmi, freesync seems to work with both hdmi and displayport but g-sync seems more sensitive. I've had good experience with AOC monitors for example. 1
