Dusty Rhodes Posted January 5, 2009 Posted January 5, 2009 I want my missions to end with a success message like in the campaigns. How is that done? Is it score dependent or does it not work in single missions? Dusty Rhodes Play HARD, Play FAIR, Play TO WIN Win 7 Professional 64 Bit / Intel i7 4790 Devils Canyon, 4.0 GIG /ASUS Maximus VII Formula Motherboard/ ASUS GTX 1080 8 GB/ 32 Gigs of RAM / Thrustmaster HOTAS Warthog / TrackIR 5 / 2 Cougar MFD's / Saitek Combat Pedals/ DSD Button Box FLT-1
NullCharacter Posted January 5, 2009 Posted January 5, 2009 The message can be made to appear as the result of a trigger. You'll need to set up a trigger that will get fired once after the appropriate conditions are met (enemy groups destroyed, player enters a trigger zone, etc..). Use the "Message & Delay" action to display your message on the screen. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Dusty Rhodes Posted January 5, 2009 Author Posted January 5, 2009 Sounds like I need to make a FLAG where multiple targets are destroyed then that triggers the mission success? And there in lies the problem.........Setting Flags confounds me. And there in lies the problem.........Setting Flags confounds me. Yes, this would require the creation of multiple triggers. Here's a hypothetical example of how something like this could work: A trigger sets flag 1 to true when the three enemy armor groups are destroyed. Another trigger sets flag 2 to true when the enemy air support group is destroyed. A third trigger displays the mission success when flag 1 (enemy armor destroyed) and flag 2 (air support destroyed) are both true. No message appears unless both flags (conditions) are true. Dusty Rhodes Posted January 5, 2009 Author Posted January 5, 2009 Thank you Null. I am just going to have to mess with this damn thing more to learn Flags. ronht Posted January 5, 2009 Posted January 5, 2009 I also set a "landing zone" trigger and a "unit below altitude" trigger over the airbase so when you return to land after completing the mission you get a success message or a message that tells you to re-arm and go back to finish the job. Take a look at my Command Center Down or Trouble at the Dam missions to see how I set up those triggers. ron
