TX6 (AUX) proper use?

Just want to check that I understood the instructions in the manual, as I am not getting Vaicom or chained VA profile commands to execute through TX6.

If I bind a button to TX6, I should be able to trigger Vaicom (and daisy chained VA) commands without transmitting over the radio, correct?

Just want to make sure this is what is supposed to happen, so I spend more time debugging this.

Also, for some reason the joystick don't show up as an option for binding, even though TX1-TX4 are bound to the joystick, which is why I am experimenting with the mouse's middle button right now, but if it works would like to use the joystick.

Thanks,

I use REL/HOT so I don't need a TX for VA commands, but you want to use TX6 in MP I guess, without transmitting? Never thougt of it that way. Good idea!
For SP use can use any TX. TX4 is for auto, only use it if you want to have a single TX.
I take it you have added your stick/throttle in VoiceAttack?

Cheers!

@MAXsenna yeah getting into MP now so I don't want everything I say to go out on the radio.

I know I can bypass Vaicom and get just VA to listen when pressing the middle button, but I would like to get Vaicom functionality directly as well, without having to duplicate setting radios etc in VA.

Just want to make sure that my expectations of how it is supposed to work is correct and that others got it to work. I will report back if I figure it out.

@pablofe
Roger!
Not sure what you mean by middle button, so apologies if you already know this. By REL/HOT I meant on the PTT tab of the VAICOM control panel, you can click it and put VoiceAttack in listening mode, that will not be cancelled by pressing a TX. Might have been what you meant though.

Cheers!

First, the manual suggests that TX6 is intended for future unspecified functionality. But since Hollywood is AWOL it's hard to know what that might mean or if we will ever see the additional functionality. Currently it does open the microphone so that you can give commands to VA or VAICOM without them going over a radio channel. I haven't used it for a while but my recollection is that you can also use it to talk to ground crew. However be warned that TX6 is not enabled in VAICOM's NORML mode for some modules. It isn't clear why not. To make sure you have access you need to switch VAICOM to MULTI mode.

Second, the key binding issue is a VA issue, not a VAICOM issue. I can't tell why your joystick is not showing up as bindable. Maybe you can provide more information or take this up on the VoiceAttack forums.
