rob10 Posted October 17, 2022 Posted October 17, 2022 Happened to me twice, and I know the 2nd time I was at 30,030 ft (29.92). After saddled and in progress of egressing Gold corridor, I keep getting a message from wingman that I'm outside of our altitude block (should be 30K). Wingman appears to have been at 30,500 according to SA page TUC info. Not sure if this is related to how DCS does altitude or what. No impact on the mission at all. I also discovered (by accident) that as long as I had the right freq set in my radio on ground/tower, it didn't care which radio I used to activate the menu -- i.e. I accidentally activated Comm 1 (which was set to preset 2 for flight) radio menu and it still answered even though I should have used Comm 2 (which was correctly set). Maybe it's that way on all and I just never noticed. Again, very minor and doesn't impact the mission at all.

I did get the altitude one during testing a couple of times but never did quite figure it out. I figured it might be a barometric air pressure related thing, but if I'm honest that goes over my head . You can use either COMM switch for any F10 radio options, it's that way through all missions. Unfortunately the triggers for monitoring cockpit switch inputs aren't all that effective and there is a slight delay between pressing the comm switch and the F10 option being added, which means the menu opens without the option being there, so you would have to close it then open it again. I could never get it working satisfactorily. 1
Pyrocumulous Posted May 2, 2023 Posted May 2, 2023 (edited) Any hints on the proper altitude to fly Gold Corridor and avoid breaking the altitude block? I've tried BALT set at 27.5k and 30.0 and both times got the "We're outside our altitude block" warning. Screenshot below shows me at barometric 30020 (BALT set at 30000, but it doesn't hold super tight to that) and Devil 1-1 at 30.5k. Answered my own question: fly Gold at 29,500' and everyone is happy. For whatever reason, Devil 1-1 flies at 30,000' (according to barometric altitude flying in formation) but it's reported in SA page as 30.5, but you can't follow him at co-altitude.
