TEMPEST.114 Posted October 28, 2022 Posted October 28, 2022 I know nothing about skinning and art, but I know someone who does, but before we even attempt this, is it even possible? The character needs to not be static, so walking / running and moving needs to be possible - which is why I thought about using an infantry model as the base unlike a static, but is it possible to remove the weapon and change the appearance? Any help would be really appreciated. Thanks
razo+r Posted October 28, 2022 Posted October 28, 2022 No, you cannot edit a model if you do not have the source file. However, it is possible to create an unarmed "infantry" and make a mod out of it.

Aside from having no graphics or modelling skills, I also have no idea how to make the 'bones' and armature to make it move correctly... this is out of my skill set.
TEMPEST.114 Posted November 20, 2022 Author Posted November 20, 2022 I've found that the "pilot_uh1_01.edm" has animation states for no helmet and different faces. How do I create a 'lua file' I guess that sets which of these states for a particular 'mod' ? I'm guessing if I create a next texture and normals and stuff (don't know how yet) then I will be able to create 'hair' and change the face etc. Does this apply to body shape too? Also, I found in modelViewer2.exe that whilst I can't change the speed of the animation (it whizzes by so fast) but I think there is a run animation and a 'panicked' run animation - how do I get to pick which of these it uses and access that by script or the mission editor?
