anthonye Posted January 14, 2009 Posted January 14, 2009 I have managed to assign the stick as the collective but it looks like it is only using half of the range. I have inverted the setting so when I pull back the collective increases. Problem is that when I pull back, nothing happens until it gets halfway through the travel, looking at it in the cockpit confirms this. Deadzone is set to zero etc and I am not using the Saitek profile manager just the in game settings. It looks like it is being treated as a standard stick centralized. If anyone could help me get the full travel to work would be a help. Thanks Anthony

ED Team USSR_Rik Posted January 14, 2009 ED Team Posted January 14, 2009 X52 Throttle should be assigned as "JOY_Z" axis for Collective (be default, it is "JOY_SLIDER1" - feature of X52). Navman Posted January 14, 2009 Posted January 14, 2009 Try ticking box named "Slider" in axis setup window. Tiucking a box where!!?? Inside the DSC program or in the Saitek software ?? I am trying desperately to assign anything but so far only the POV seems to work through sheer luck. I see a column with Saitek Rudder, and one with Saitek X52, but no way in either to assign any of the axes. From within >Options>Controls I only get a pop-up window listing Joy_BTN01 till Joy_BTN128, but nothing recognizable.... The Axis Tune button along the bottom of the screen is never active either... I must be doing something VERY wrong, but have no clue after 4 days ! Francois A. ZaltysZ Posted January 14, 2009 Posted January 14, 2009 Tiucking a box where!!?? Inside the DSC program or in the Saitek software ?? Inside DCS. You need to select "Axis" (colored red) from drop down list to see axis assignments, then select a function to which you want to assign an axis; press a button which is named something like "Assign" and choose needed axis of stick in shown window. In the same window you will find that box "Slider". I can't name labels and buttons more specifically, because I have Russian version. Wir sehen uns in Walhalla.

Navman Posted January 15, 2009 Posted January 15, 2009 I had that problem too in the beginning. It is all a little less 'intuitive' than what I'm used to from MSFS or other combat sims. What you need to do is (after you get the separate window with the drop-down list of button numbers) to position your cursor in the empty 'button field', atop the long list of numbers. If you THEN actuate one of the buttons on your X52, its number will be entered into the field automatically. Et voilà.:) Francois A. Booster75 Posted January 15, 2009 Posted January 15, 2009 thx alot 4 qiuck answer i really preciate it! button assignment fix :-) any answers about the deadzone?
ZaltysZ Posted January 15, 2009 Posted January 15, 2009 any answers about the deadzone? When you have assigned axis to some in game control, look at the bottom where a lot of buttons (like "Asign") are. Press the one which means something like "Edit axis" or "Setup axis". It will open a window with curve, deadzone and etc. Wir sehen uns in Walhalla.
