Enables Waypoint Action "Follow" against enemy aircraft

I have long been concerned about the inability of AI aircraft to perform "follow" actions on enemy aircraft.

In fact, the Air Force in my country seems to have fighter jets intercepting unidentified aircraft almost daily, yet we have never shot down an unidentified aircraft since the founding of the Air Force.

We are not always in a state of engagement. We would like to be able to have an AI aircraft that scrambles against an unknown aircraft to act such that it continues to track the unknown aircraft without attacking it.
As soon as we can set the follow task to track the enemy, we will be able to reproduce the interceptor aircraft of the enemy camp that tracks the player aircraft approaching a border without attacking it. This would make missions more exciting.

Quite agree. This artificial limiting of certain commands in the scripting engine / M.E. is driving me nuts. There's no reason why this shouldn't be allowed, just someone made a bad decision. 

Much like not allowing allied SAMS to target a friendly. What if they defect? What if there's a glitch? Etc. All these artificial barriers just stunt/kill the ability to create more interesting missions and experiences.

Nothing wrong with adding this to your wish list but to just to let you know, your preferred scenario is already possible within DCS and the video should help shed some light on what is required. I hope it helps. Cheers.

Good to know that a broken implementation that still exists in the M.E. to allow for a 'workaround' is possible... until they 'fix' it. 

Can't do this via scripting though can you? 

Just like the broken events not firing in MP Dedicated servers, just because there is a (convoluted and non-obvious) workaround, doesn't excuse it.

No ones excusing anything I simply supply help from my knowledge base......... an option was provided nothing more nothing less. It works and it's available and now the OP is aware

Yeah, I'm using right now in a mission. Thanks for sharing this 'tip'. No offence intended.
