Recommended Settings for Logtech Extreme 3D Pro

I'm using this joystick for my X-Plane 11 planes and add-ons, but as of yet, I can't taxi, steer or accelerate with my joystick on the FA18C.  Is there a way to calibrate it for the FA18C Hornet?  A tutorial in the game?  In other words, I can't operate it from a joystick the way it should be yet.  Anything would be helpful to get me up in the air and on my way with the lessons.  Thanks.
