Slayer Posted January 17, 2009 Posted January 17, 2009 (edited) I'm trying to create a new skin, based off one of the skins included in the game but I'm having problems with a few things I can't seem to get a grasp on. There are several skins in C:\Eagle Dynamics\Ka-50\Bazar\World that don't show up in my mission editor for use. Specificly: 1) Ka-50_Fictional_USMC_Grey_Scheme 2) Ka-50_Fictional_Turkey_Scheme 3) Ka-50_Fictional_Desert1_Scheme Why don't these show up in the list in the ME? EDIT: I found these if I select Turkey as the country, but shouldn't the Fictional Desert1 go under Russian? USMC skin under Turkey??? In addition, in the ME there are Russian skins I can use but I cannot seem to locate them because they are not in the same directory as the other skins and I have no idea where to locate them: Standard Standard(faded) Demo paint scheme # 22 "Black Shark" Demo Paint scheme #024 Demo Paint scheme "Werewolf" I want to make a skin based on the "Black Shark" scheme Any help is appreciated thanks Edited January 17, 2009 by Slayer [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] System Specs Intel I7-3930K, Asrock EXTREME9, EVGA TITAN, Mushkin Chronos SSD, 16GB G.SKILL Ripjaws Z series 2133, TM Warthog and MFD's, Saitek Proflight Combat pedals, TrackIR 5 + TrackClip PRO, Windows 7 x64, 3-Asus VS2248H-P monitors, Thermaltake Level 10 GT, Obutto cockpit

X32Wright Posted January 19, 2009 Posted January 19, 2009 (edited) .cdds looks like 'compressed .dds' files. The .dds is a 'DirectDrawSurface' file. The compressed version is not directly accessible via plugins to GIMP or Photoshop but would need a command line program form nVidia or ATI. http://developer.nvidia.com/object/texture_tools.html The regular nVidia Photoshop plugin only opens .dds files: http://developer.nvidia.com/object/photoshop_dds_plugins.html#downloads Here is the paint.net plugin: http://www.dmashton.co.uk/articles/dds-support-for-paintnet/ GIMP plugin for .dds http://nifelheim.dyndns.org/~cocidius/dds/ Although most 3D programs now can handle .dds directly the 2D programs havent done so 'natively'. You can try this: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb219744(VS.85).aspx Please keep in mind that the .cdds is a guess on my part because thats the only most sensible file format that is directly going to be used in the game that is compressed and can be handled by both nVidia and ATI GPU's.
