Mr. Farknocker Posted December 16, 2022 Posted December 16, 2022 (edited) The point of aim and point of impact for the rockets in L version are different. The rockets seem to impact a spot above and to the left of the aiming reticle (i.e., the 10-11 o'clock position relative to the POI). It's not by much but its enough to cause me to miss my targets. Is anyone else experiencing the same phenomena? p.s. sorry for the grammatical error in the title. Edited December 16, 2022 by Mr. Farknocker
Evg85 Posted December 21, 2022 Posted December 21, 2022 I can assume that there are certain attack parameters that must be observed to hit the target: speed, altitude, pitch. This is well implemented in the DCS Mi-8 module. But unfortunately, these parameters are not modeled in the Gazelle module.
Jenrick Posted December 23, 2022 Posted December 23, 2022 I haven't flown the Gaz in a while, IIRC rockets are zero'd for about 1km, and the cannon at 500m. Part of the issue is the DCS core not modeling frag or blast terribly well, which is primarly how rockets damage things. The effective zone of a DCS rocket impact for light vehicles and troops is pretty under modeled. 1
