Mission 6 Win Conditions?

Hi SorelRo,

Just curious about the design of this mission, I can't view the conditions in the mission editor for victory so I figure I should just ask. I modified my loadout to take 4 Mavericks and I destroyed 4 SCUDS and then strafed the other two for a total of six. When I landed my score didn't go to 100 so I am assuming the player needs to destroy the AAA units attached to the SCUD convoys? If that's the case, my question is why? Wouldn't just the SCUDS be considered good enough as the briefing suggests?

Hi @Gunnar81

Both groups have to be destroyed for a passing score, in the original loadout the Mav's should be used against AA, taking down the AA will make the group stop and then you go and deal with the SCUD's, that makes it always easier. Maybe I'm wrong, but when the priority should be always deal with the AA first then the objective, the original loadout should give you plenty of ordinance to deal with both.

Hmm, in my experience the groups don't stop for long when you hit them with Mavericks and that Hawk site is constantly lobbing missiles at my flight hence why I tried doing it with a modified loadout to keep my distance. I must be doing something wrong or just suck as hitting 8 moving targets with 6 weapons and an AI wingman that won't do anything while being lit up by an enemy SAM site seems impossible to me. Thanks for the advice on how to complete this mission, but I think it will be getting the skip button. If I could offer a bit of constructive criticism it seems like this mission is just harder than it has to be? I mean it would be tricky enough IRL just finding moving targets at night and engaging them, but doing that within the weapons envelope of the SAM site seems insane? Or has something in this mission broke and there is a SEAD flight that is not doing its job? Anyway, I've enjoyed the campaign up to this mission.

The problem is that the AI and AA weapons characteristics are changing from one update to the other. AI behavior as well, when it comes to wingmen. The HAWK was not an issue, they are tracking but even if they launch you used to be beyond their reach, it looks like that changed somewhat, or maybe you are finding them too late. both convoy stop at the edge of the HAWK site effective cover, as it should be normal. I'll review this and see if I can balance it a bit better. The thing is that more targets are spawning once you terminate both convoys, so gun runs at night are quite fun. As I said, I'll see if I can change it somehow and still allowing you to take both convoys.

If you go in low (like 100 feet) you can avoid the MiGs, and then use APKWS rockets to take out the entire group of SCUDs, Shilkas, and trucks one-by-one staying below 1000 feet and the Hawk is not a factor. Recommend taking out the two Shilkas first, so there is no threat. 28 rockets shot in pairs, good for 14 shots. I ended up hauling a pair of GBU-12s and a full gunpod back to Siri. APKWS really are the best weapon ever for numerous targets without too much AA.

Warthog HOTAS, VMAX Prime Throttle, TPR pedals, Kensington Slimblade Pro,

Pimax Crystal, RTX 4090 FE, Asus ProArt X670E-Creator, Ryzen 7950X3D, 64gb DDR5.

Good thinking. I was trying to use the default loadouts the campaign creator made the missions with, but they are all buggered now anyways after Razbam updated the Harrier loadout scheme. I like your idea of taking the APKWS tho, may have to re try the whole campaign using custom loadouts.
