tonyswash Posted January 3, 2023 Posted January 3, 2023 I currently have the Thrustmaster Warthog throttle but I find it way too heavy. I have very limited desk and den space and have to stow it away between sessions and I just find it really tedious given how heavy it is. I was wondering if the Orion2 F/A - 18 Hornet Throttle from WinWing was significantly lighter?
some1 Posted January 3, 2023 Posted January 3, 2023 Yes, it's noticeably lighter, but at the cost of being more prone to slide on the desk, unless you mount it or use the included suction cups. In the Warthog throttle iirc most of the weight is in the bottom plate, you can remove it and replace it with something lighter. Hardware: VPForce Rhino, FSSB R3 Ultra, Virpil WarBRD, Hotas Warthog, Winwing F15EX, Slaw Rudder, GVL224 Trio Throttle, Thrustmaster MFDs, Saitek Trim wheel, Trackir 5, Quest Pro
tonyswash Posted January 3, 2023 Author Posted January 3, 2023 Thanks for the brilliant suggestion about removing the base plates - it makes a huge difference. I can attach a light weight base now and attach it to the desk mount. Probably saved me paying for a new throttle - thanks again.
