Hi, I just want to say that so far this campaign has blown me away. What an amazing job you've done!

While playing mission 7 I had an issue where the UHF radio kept automatically switching to GD/XMT throughout. It was set to Man (and I even tried using Preset 1 at times).

It was on TR, but it seemed no matter what I tried the knob would eventually cycle down after a couple of minutes and I would potentially miss out on some communications.

This might be a glitch, or maybe I was doing something wrong?

Also, on another note, I've noticed the FM Channel for Anderson Field directs somewhere far away from the actual airfield.

Is it perhaps on a different channel than what is on the kneeboard?

Either way, despite these small issues this campaign has been absolutely incredible to play!

Thank you so much for all the hard work you've put into this! It's amazing!

Regards,

Jonathan

Hi, thanks for the report.

Andersen doesn't have FM homing, it's the built-in FM frequency in DCS.

As for the UHF cycling down, that's weird, it sounds like some sort of controls assignment issue. The mission sure doesn't change your freqs. As if some HOTAS button or switch was assigned to it and it would keep changing it.

Do you have easy comms enabled? If yes, try disabling it. Also, disable any mods you may use, they interfere with the game in weird ways ( that's why they're unofficial mods)

Hi there, and thanks so much for the quick reply! I know how busy you must be these days.

Thanks for the info about Anderson Field. In the Kneeboard it has 38.6 listed as a FM Frequency so I assumed it would guide me back there. That makes sense about it being built in, thanks for the head's up.

As for the idea of Easy Comms, I checked and did have it enabled, so I went ahead and disabled it.

After that I tried playing the next mission (Mission 8 ) and noticed the issue is still there for some strange reason.

The left UHF Radio knob continues cycling down from MAN to GD/XMIT, and now strangely I noticed the right knob also cycles down from TR all the way to ADF.

I don't have any mods installed and doubled checked that my HOTAS binds don't have any set up for the UHF radio (I also included a screenshot if it helps at all).

There's definitely a possibility I'm missing something, but have no idea what it is.

- I'm not sure if this matters, but I use the Auto Start feature when spawning in, and while things are spooling up I turn on and dial in the radios. Could this be the issue?

Thanks again for your help, I really appreciate your time!

The only thing the mission does is changing the ROE of your gunners. Every control input has a code, and the mission can trigger that code to flip a switch or to make something happen.

I was afraid that ED changed these codes and what was 'change gunner ROE' has become 'switch radios' but I checked and the codes are still the same. So it's not that.

I figured it out!

I'm so sorry to have wasted your time. It turns out your were right straight off the bat, it was a mod that was interfering.

I thought I had deleted all my mods a long time ago, but still had one called "DCS Walkman" hidden deep in my folder.

The conflict was that my VoiceAttack software was registering my saying "Shuffle", "Next Song", etc when I was talking to my phone as me talking to the Walkman app which had the same keybinds set up as the UHF radio settings. (ie, LCntrl+Lshift 5 for Shuffle and LCntrl+Lshift 4 for next song).

Hope this helps in case you get another person like me who is screwing themselves up all on their own.

Thanks so much for your quick replies, and thanks again for this awesome campaign.

I have to say it is definitely one of my favorites in all of DCS. It's clear you put in a tonne of effort into this!

PS, I'm still very keen to be a voice actor down the road if you'll still have me.
